Hi - I was reading the nail thread and then went to the dremel website to check out the cordless models, but they have quite a few! Which one do you recommend? I really want to try it on my girls. We clip now, but I know we can go shorter, it's just that we are afraid of the "bleed". I hold and my husband clips, but we're all crying at the end of the session.:thanx:

Not BeauBuddy, but this is the dremel that I have Amazon.com: Dremel 761-03 7,000/14,000 RPM Cordless Pet Nail Grooming Rotary Tool: Home Improvement . It was inexpensive and cordless which were my 2 requirements. It does go through batteries, but I only use rechargeables in my home so it's not a big deal to me.

What size sanding drums do you use in your dremel? 1/4" or 1/2"? Thanks

I did not buy the dremel with the battery pack. The one I showed in the link there takes 4 AA batteries. I just use rechargeable batteries since we pretty much switched everything in the house to them when the kids were smaller.
This here is a great starter pack, I have it and am happy with the charger Amazon.com: La Crosse Technology BC-900 AlphaPower Battery Charger: Home & Garden and then for extra batteries, I really like the Energizer brand ones, but they are a bit pricey.

And this one has enough power and keeps its charge for at least the whole grinding process right?

I tried the dremmel and Ruby did not like it either, Petsmart does the ears and nails for 12.00 I don't think you will beat that.

I have the Dremel with the rechargeable ION power pack... one charge lasts a LONG time. You will need to get your dog used to the sound and feel... some handle it right off.. others don't

Hi!
I have an old dremel so anyone with the newer models can toss in their opinions, so glad they have been!
You can check out the reviews on different models. I have read on some models that they didn't have the power that the person wanted. Some were Awesome! and some "good enough".
Let us know how things come along. Good luck!

I have the Dremel brand, cordless with 2 speeds. It uses 4-AA batteries. I got a package that came with replacement bands. Though I haven't had to change a band yet.

I use a rechargeable Dremel 4.8 cordless bought from Walmart under $20. It works great, & is very quiet. This makes the job very easy:yahoo:
