Both sleep with us. Daxter starts out under the covers curled up between my legs and eventually ends up between our pillows. SKippy sleeps next to my tummy. Nothing better then waking up to a puppy kliss :circle:

Jake has slept in bed with me since the night he came home!
I had to add to my post... Jake is starting to think the big bed is HIS. Each time I go to move I am hearing more and more grumping from under the covers!
With 6 of 'em? :D
Nope! :circle:

Yes except for sometimes in the summer when Tanner thinks the big bed get too hot. All three boys and I share one twin bed.

Chief gets 1/2 and 1/2. He initially is in bed with us before he goes out for his last walk, and then he gets to come in early in the morning before we get ready to go to work. On occasion, either hubby or me will snatch him earlier than normal when we want to snuggle :)

Dora starts out in the bed with us, under the covers...falling asleep as we are getting ready for bed and then as we watch tv for a while, catching the last of the news.
When the lights go out and Dora is nice and snuggly, buried deep in the end of the King Sized bed, I pull her out and tuck her into her crate/kennel which is next to my side of the bed. I put her blanket over her and we don't hear a peep out of her all night long.
When the lights go on in the morning, she darts out of the crate and heads straight for her food dish.
Then a trip outside and back under the covers in our bed as we dress and get ready to head to work.
I love Saturdays. She comes to bed with us for extra sleeping-in time, snuggling.

ABSOLUTELY!!! No blankets needed. All 4 of the girls and most of the fosters. Otherwise I get no sleep. Besides, I don't need a blanket! The most I have had in bed at once is 10. I should mention that I pushed 2 beds together to do this! Rena and the pack.
10! wow that is great! why is it that dachshunds like to snuggle so much? they are so sweet and cute!

When I told my vet that I was going to add a second dog, he said dachshunds are very much pack animals. Dachsies just like getting into the den and burrowing under the covers, the closer the better. Every once in a while, I have to get up and leave the pack on one side of the beds and go to the other side because they all have to be so close they pack into one side. Rena

Before we moved, at bed time, five of the six would follow us to the bedroom, with four sleeping in the bed. Then some time in the middle of the night, the sixth would decide she was lonely and join the rest. It was so funny- two would be under the covers at our feet, two would be between us, one would wrap himself around my head and the other would curl up in the laundry basket that we used for a hamper. After we moved in with my parents, we bought crates for them. It took awhile for them to get used to not sleeping with us, but now we have very little problem, except for Thor, who feels he'll die without his mommy and daddy.

I cannot sleep unless Frankie is in bed with me. I sleep on my side and she snuggles next to my chest. My first doxie (Tiffany who was put down in 1998) slept on my pillow. Frankie is such a good girl, that I feel she deserves to sleep where the big people sleep. She'll usually hop in bed before me, so when she gets devious, she'll push the pillows off the bed. Then when she's really spunky, she'll plow under the covers until she has pushed them all on the floor. It's too funny to be angry with her. A house is not a home without a doxie.
:asleep: My wife and I sleep in single beds. Otto always go to bed first in his little bed on the floor between our beds. The other dachsie Sigi always goes to bed with me, when I turn in so does he. Tell me does anyone else have a dachsie that enjoys licking feet. Sigi does! Otto always joins my wife at 3.30 am. He wakes me up and I have to get up every night and place him beside Betty. I don`t mind doing this as I find it coincides with a needed visit to the bathroom.
Last but not least, Sigi enjoys a lie-in whenever possible. He snoozes until everyone else has done their ablutions and breakfasted. When he is ready to rise he lets us know with a short sharp commanding bark. Do you think we are spoiling them? :D

Charlie can't sleep unless it is with me and my fiance. He has slept with us since the first day that we got home. He has to sleep between us so that his butt is touching jess, and his nose is touching me... I always tease jess about why charlie has to put his butt on her to sleep. I love my dochsie.

Porketta sleeps downstairs because she is to big to carry up and down the stairs and to old to make it by herself. Gabby and Minnow also sleep downstairs now because they are mannerless and frequently forget that it is NOT nice to pee ON daddy or mommy during the night ( yes I'd be glad to put them out and am a light sleeper but first indication of it's time is always that cold, wet, unexpected shower). Addie, Molly and Willow sleep in bed between Ken and I with head on pillow and body undercover.

Yes you are spoiling your doxies, but they deserve it. I would do just about anything for Frankie. My first doxie Tiffany was diagnosed with an inoperable bladder tumor. I took her to a holistic vet for 4 years. She went into remission. Prior to her death, about 1/3 of her tongue dried up! It was so weird. She was hospitalized and fed intravenously. Well, she learned to eat and give kisses with that shorter tongue! What a mess she made when she ate; I had to wipe her face when she was done. I also gave her IV morning and night, shots of batril and cooked food for her because I loved her so much. I think these little dogs give us so much in return that I would do anything I could for mine. Tiffany had a good quality of life during those 4 years. She became demented, and I had to put her down. I had her cremated; I wanted her here with me.....

Yep--same here. We have Mike , Me, Penny and westie-sis Katie in our bed. We have a queen size but need a KING!!
tee-hee!!:flower:
Just to say I feel your loss. Tiffany was obviously so brave, and enjoyed her life, with your help right to the end. You had no choice in the circumstances but to end her suffering.
Two years ago one of our boys had to have surgery "Disk Fenestration" on his spine. He came back to us with his back legs totally paralysed. They hung like bits of rope. He was in shock for a week-never closed his eyes-just sat staring-refused all food. We both prayed for his recovery. I gave him water from a plastic syringe during the nights. We were thankful each morning when he was still with us.
Otto was also very brave like your Tiffany. After about 10 days he had his first morsel. When he was carried out onto the lawn to do his "business", he dragged himself along with his front paws so as not to soil himself. That was just over 2 years ago. He was paralysed for 2 months. There isn`t a day that passes that we don`t thank God for his recovery.

I'm so glad Otto recovered! The TLC we give these little dogs does help. Thanks for sharing such an inspiring story! Your persistence did help. I knew Tiffany's time was limited. She was 15 years old, and I wasn't going to be selfish by keeping her alive. Even the vet who cared for her for the last 4 years said she was ready...... I enjoyed every moment I had with her. Now I have Frankie to love and care for. Give Otto some gentle bellyrubs from me and Frankie. By the way, she loves her bellyrubs. When I mention the word, she is at my feet on her back kicking those stubbly little paws. Ya gotta love these sweet affection dogs~!;)
