View Full Version : New Year's Resolutions
Ok . . . if your Dachsie(s) were to make a New Years Resolution . . . what would you hope for it to be?
For us I think that it would be that they would stop acting/sounding like they're storming the beach at Normandy on DDay in WWII when we let them out in the yard. :D

To lose weight. Yeah, right... that and cut back on chews. Rena and the pack (who have no intent to give up any food or goodies)
well, my wish for dexter is that he would stop pooping in the house.
dexter's resolution is probably that he could have twenty balls to play with and that he could play all day - he loves his ball it is a Buddy Glow Ball (with no squeeker!!)
you gotta love these dogs!!

LOL that is the funniest thing I have thought about! There hopes would be:
They would send me to a professional trainer so that I would fineally learn exactly how to :
Get them there favorite treats whenever they want them.
Learn to behave myself in the house and encourage them to run jump and chew on all the furniture
Have water with ice cubes available at all times
Never use the bad words that spells on, but is backwards.
Order fresh bones for them to chew.
Move off the chair when they give me the l@@k.
Provide children when they want to play with them, until board.
Take them for long walks and encourage them to P or P wherever they want.
Let them out when the neighbors cat is still in the yard. (BUT HAVE THE GATE OPEN). He HE HEEEE!!!!
Have the electric blanket turned on so that if they are chilled they can warm up fast.
Never expect them to bathe just because they have a new and wonderful aroma that they specially chose to roll in and feel oh so sexy!
MY HOPE! THIS NEVER COMES TRUE! IT IS ONLY A NIGHTMARE! I HOPE, LOL:caffeine:

The bad word that is on is NO just thought I would clarify for the last post. Also that it never be spoken loudly as to hurt anyones feelings.
I just hope they all stay healthy and happy. No problems arise with any of them.
It would be nice to have a boring year, no special things going on that aren't welcome.
They told me to wish for the rest of you guys to all stay healthy and happy too!
Sorry blabber mouth tonight isn't shutting up!! LOL:D
I am pretty sure that Trixie's wish would be to be eating all the time. She gave me a snotty look this morning when i won't give her a second glazed donut. She went to my wife and had this puppy eye look. So funny for a senior doxie. :D
My wish is to find her a younger companion soon. :)
Molly's Mom

Molly and Sammy's wish would probably be that someone sit with them all day, every day, so they will never, never go without attention.
Sammy would also wish that I'd throw those green beans and carrots away and stop calling them "treats". (Molly likes veggies, so she doesn't mind).
Molly would also wish that people would stop putting those stupid looking sweaters on her when it's time to go outside. Who wants to be humilated out in public?
My wish would be that they both remain safe and healthy, for Molly to stop chewing up the couch and also to lose some weight (though she could say the same about me), and for Sammy to stop running upstairs to torture the cats. Not that I'm holding my breath on any of these last things, but who says resolutions usually happen anyway?

Let's see:
Laila- her wish would be to lick a hooman twice as much as she does. Her lifetime goal is to see how many kisses she can give. And that amount now is in excess!
Darby- Chase the cat without mom saying no.
Patty- Miss silly. I call her my ferret, she is long and slinky. Her wish, more toy! Of course she has about 20 scattered around the house now!
Pepper- To find his way back home to me (he was stolen in May).
My wish- For all of them to be healthy and Pepper to come back to me.

Aug:
1. loose weight, the shar-pei comments are starting to bug me.
2. stop crapping in the general direction of the neighbors.
3. eat the cat next door.
4. roll in stuff that is less offencive.
Bud:
1. not to bark so loud that it makes hoomans ears ring.
2. stop belching in the faces of hoomans that kiss me.
3. I don't have to steal Aug's treats, I have my own.
4. quit passing gas while snuggling with hoomans.

Rusty - 1. get rid of Lady - he hates having her in the house
2. break in his two new sucky toys (sucks them like a mother's teats)
3. find a way to be allowed to eat human food at the table with the taller family members
4. get his own heating pad for his crate
5. continue to lick/love on his cat
Duffer - 1. beat Hobbs at chasing things
2. be able to snore louder than dad
3. get a full one half of the human bed
4. get more car/truck rides
5. find a way to be allowed to eat human food at the table with the taller family members
Hobbs - 1. continue to beat Duffer at chasing things
2. make mum and dad play fetch with me for 3 hrs. at a time
3. make the cats legs shorter so he can't jump up on the cupboard when he doesn't want to play anymore
4. always stay the baby of the family
5. find a way to be allowed to eat human food at the table with the taller family members
Shaddy (the cat) 1. to learn to bark
2. to get Hobbs to play with me whenever I want him to
3. to be able to get my own toys and not have my doggie brothers wreck them
4. to find a crate big enough that I could share it with my 3 brothers - I like to sleep with them in the crate
5. to be able to eat all the tomatoes, spagetti sauce and olive pickle juice that I want
Mom and Dad - to fill our home with another year with love, laughter and joy - and to win a lottery so mom could have a dachshund ranch and make a haven for dashies who need homes

Willie's new year resolution would be to be allowed outside all the time so he could sniff every inch of the yard and for his mom to get him a playmate. He really enjoys cavorting around with all the other dogs in the neighborhood when he gets the chance.
My new year's hope has already come true. He is finally healthy - no more kennel cough and the parasites are gone. Now we are working on his eating habits.:flower:
Hope everyone has a great new year and had a fantastic x-mas.
Janet and Willie
