I just had to share this story of a friend of mine....
Owen got his CPE Agility Trial Championship (C-ATCH) yesterday :cheer:
I am so proud of my boy. Who would think just ovr 2
years ago he was in a shelter and coulda been pts cuz they thought he was
aggressive (he was scared in a cage!!!!) Thank god for the office angels
there who took him out of the cage and realized how sweet he is..and to the
recue angel who came and got him at last :)
I only started agility with him cuz I thought it would help his
confidence...never thought he would be so great!!
I'm so lucky...I have two champion agility weens.

Tell me this isn't one of the coolest rescue stories :hearts::hearts::hearts:
Owen started Agility about a year and a half ago..... and for those of you interested in it....here is how it went for owen...
I thought he would have his c-atch by august or so but he started leaping contacts (yellow safety areas on the dogwalk and a-frame)and it took me some time to re-train those in a way that was
appropriate for a dachshund.
"traditional" dogs are often taught to stop with their front feet on the ground and their back feet on the obstacle until released (makes for a fast start off of the obstacle) but I didn't want him stopping like that and
jarring his whole spine.
So it took awhile..he was great the last 3 trials and didn't jump any :)
