Hey All You Pasta lovers!
This is one of my favorite "from scratch" recipies for a super yummy pasta sauce.
Ingredients:
1 medium onion chopped finely
4-6 Garlic buds minced
1/4 Cup of butter
1 tablespoon of basil (or to taste)
1 red pepper chopped into small cubes
2 cups cream (don't use milk)
shrimp
1) in a saucepan/frying pan, melt 1/4 cup of butter, add garlic and onion, Cook on MEDIUM LOW (*you don't want to brown the garlic too much) until onions are clear and soft.
2) Add red pepper and simmer gently on medium low until ALL the liquid has steamed off...you want to make sure the mixture is as thick as possible--
3) add one tablespoon of basil and mix thru.
4) add the two cups of cream and heat thru -- do not allow to boil.
5) cook the shrimp seperately and then add to the heated sauce.
In a large serving platter (with higher sides) put a fairly large portion of cooked fettucini: Pour the sauce over the pasta, Serve!
This is a runnier sauce, but it makes for delcious moist leftovers because the pasta soaks up the excess moisture...
Try it and let me know what you think!! :D
Cheers
