Well, you know I've spoken often about Charlie's progress. The BIG news is that he has become more affectionate in recent days.
He has made such enormous strides, being with Tammy & Lil. He loves them and it's obvious that they feel the same. They are so good for him & I believe that he is also very good for them. The girls both seem to love him, and share his attention almost equally. Toss a coin. Who loves him more, Tammy or Lil? The girls have been together forever & will remain that way. But Charlie is their "wild-card". They are both so sweet with him, but mostly deal with him separately. I wonder if the girls are at a point in their lives where they need to show their individuality. It's funny. One night one of them will want to sleep with him, and the next night the other is almost screaming "my turn"! I follow all of these developments closely. Charlie is still very much my baby. He looks to me for comfort & reassurance. I am so happy to have this special guy in my life.
Charlie has just recently allowed Linda to pick him up. This is huge! He previously would not allow anyone but me to touch him. It's wonderful to see Charlie realize that he IS loved, and not only by me.
Anyway, back to the kisses. Since we adopted him, Charlie would only kiss my hand. He would always rub his head against mine & touch noses with me. A couple of nights ago he kissed my cheek! I thought it was a "fluke" at first but then he did it again. And he did it yet again today!!! Maybe it's the girl's influence (they're both very kissy & affectionate), or better yet - let's hope that he is truly shedding the puppy mill days and coming into his own.
Charlie, the wonder dog! May he continue to thrive!!:pray:
