Is it ever too early to start supplements to help prevent back problems? Willow is now one year old. I have been studying the database at the Dodger's List website. It seems like very very few of the dogs were on supplements before the back problems began. Does anyone know if there are any studies documenting the benifits of supplements to prevent problems?

What would be good to add to her diet at this age?

I already know how terribly important it is to keep her fit. I try to keep her on an exercise schedule. (Shhhhh!....don't tell her! She thinks we are just playing!)

Thanks for any advice you might have.

with glucosamine/chondrotin and C. We give Chief ester C 500 mg/ 250 with each meal, and he gets a glucosamine chondrotin supplement called Nutriflex. He also gets an additional back supplement from our holistic vet called "back relief." There is no harm in giving these as it can't hurt..only help!

Hope this answers your question!

Good morning,

Loren made a good recommendation of choices . . . and no, it's never too early. :)
