Yes and what a wonderful turnout! Kudos to the Livingston and Oakland Kennel Clubs here in Michigan for putting on a great show. Very well organized, a nice variety of venders and lots of wonderful dogs.

 Then you must not ahve gone on Saturday what a mess there was a gas leak in the building and the main entrance and exit was closed so we walked in the cold all the way around the building as the fire Marshal told us all to and came in the back to a pile up of half frozen people trying to find rings and they were mis numbered and scattered all over they opened big doors and we froze inside too.You could not unload dogs where we always do and that was before the gas leak even people with handicapped stickers were told NO!! So next year we will NOT enter or even GO to watch friends at the FROZEN TOESEN Show.

Oh yeah, we were there on Saturday. Arrived about 9, parked a million miles past the watertower and were snug in our chairs ringside before the north entrance was closed. Luckily our chairs were at the end of the ring and out of the direct draft of the door when they opened it for ventilation.

I guess I tried to look at the overall presentation of the show. I had no entry and wasn't aware of the problems you faced until speaking with Carol S. last night. I knew the cold and backup of people at the north entrance had been a distraction inside, I didn't know about all the other snafus until last night. My heart goes out to you and all the frozen puppers.

I still maintain that from a "spectators" point of view it was well presented by the clubs. We never see the problems that exhibitors face. We're more in tune with cleanliness, variety of vendors, inclusion of obedience and fun activities and diversity of breeds. In all those areas, which are the only ones I'm qualified to comment on, I thought they did very well.

I'm curious what you're impression of the dachshund judge was? His choices never seemed to match or even come close to mine. At first I thought I was way off the mark, but now I'm not sure. It just didn't appear to me that his heart was in it. He adored the collies, but not so much love for the dachshunds.

Did you show longs, smooths, wires?

Oh I did not have a entry, I was going to meet up with Carol S. and some other friends and Club members. So I was speaking from what I heard from all of my friends except for the walking and mess about the gas leak of which I got there just intime for. I have shown under the judge on Saturday many times and watched him judge for years on the East Coast and what he did Sat. was NO WHERE near to what I have EVER seen him do you are right he was placeing the dogs completly backwards as to what I have ever seen him do.He is a known movement judge and prefers Black & Tan loves a classy head and wants ribbing and keel but put up dogs that tripped around the ring with poor movement overall. So if I want to show him my Black & Tan girl I will go East.By the way what do you think of the Cream Crew???

If luck is with me, We'll make it through Carol's approval process and become a part of the family. :D

She and I have been emailing each other for a few weeks, finally got a chance to meet at the show and talked for quite a while last night on the phone. We're meeting the babies on Wed and we're very excited. My hope is that she'll accept us as potential parents for one of Peachie's pups.

I was really afraid I wasn't going to make the cut. I've not been involved in showing this breed. I married into a poodle family. I'll need to start from scratch with handling classes and learning the appropriate show grooming for this breed, but Carol's been really patient with me. I got a little panicy the other day, but she got me back on the right track. I was putting way to much pressure on myself by looking to far into the future.

Carol's really gotten me excited about field trials. More fun, less politics. I can't wait till it gets started up again so we can go and experience it for ourselves. I'll remember to bring my slicker and boots!

Field Trials are to hard on me my husband does the brush beating when he is not working he usually is doing that latly.Anyhow they can be fun I have run some of my 8 kids in them.I like the Go -to- Grounds too. I do not show alot anymore I only have 2 girls to work with right now in the shows Lily (10 points both majors) and her sister Lola who LOVES the rats.Their Dad Guy will be in the Field trial again this year if all works out he is a Am/Can Champion as is their Mom DeeNee she also has a S.E. she LOVES the Rats too. Guy's Mom Annie also likes the Rats but can not be shown due to a injury. So guess we will run into each other along the line somewhere.Oh we have St. Longs ;)

I can't wait. Carol has us pumped about it. She's very proud to have one of the first "cream" field champions. Goes to show they aren't just pretty, they're functional.

She tells me there are a bunch of really nice people involved in field trials, I think we'll fit in nicely. My husband and I are pretty down to earth.

We're not club members yet, are we still allowed to attend? We haven't joined yet because our girls are too young to participate in the events. Since they can't participate, we can't comply with the club regulations. Maybe we could get a guest pass from Carol just to observe.
