:DHi all,

Just wanted to give a bit of an update on our adopted kids. Charlie is doing great! He loves his family and plays with toys, which he never did before. My sweet little Charlie Brown now wags his tail often and has seemingly come to understand that we won't hurt him, nor would we allow anyone else to. He's also becoming a bit more verbal. He has NEVER barked in the six months that we've had him; but he is now starting to make a little noise! Go Charlie!!

His adopted siblings, Tammy & Lily, are doing wonderfully as well. I'll tell you that these girls are so affectionate and loving. They are surely a blessing and I'm hard pressed to understand how their original "parents" were able to give them up. These ladies have given us so much love and have truly helped Charlie to become more confident and strong.

Linda & I are forever grateful to Brenda for bringing these babies into our lives. What a perfect mix! They get along so well, such love and affection between them. When I watch them cuddle together my heart swells with joy.

Enough said. I just really felt the need to post an update.

Best wishes to all and all of your pups!!!

Brenda adopted Clyde into our family, and for that we are eternally grateful, even after he's consumed all eight custom kitchen chairs! :) So glad to hear your update!

Thanks everyone, for your kindness & well wishes.

Irma - I never really went away. I've always been lurking here. It's just been a tough couple of months with work, family issues and with our beautiful cat Freckles passing away so suddenly. Truthfully, I wouldn't allow myself to post because I was somewhat depressed by Casper's  death on 9/1/07 :candle: and then Freckles  passing on 2/1/08 :candle:. It was hard to deal with the losses, especially so close together. I didn't want to bring everyone on the board down with my sadness.

Interestingly we almost had another dog! Linda's nephew gave us a Siberian Husky puppy (from his dog's litter) that we named Mikee. We loved him, so playful and handsome. But we realized very quickly that this was too much for Charlie, Tammy & Lily to handle. Charlie started reverting to his former scared behavior. The girls were afraid to walk freely in the house. Linda & I knew that giving Mikee back to her nephew was the best thing for all concerned. And it was. We still see him and get to watch him grow. We are now his honorary "godparents". Charlie, Tammy, Lil & Tasha are back to normal and very happy. A happy ending. :Sun2:

:welcome: back! I've missed your posts, and I'm so glad to hear that everyone is doing so well! Although it's terrific when you can open your heart and home to another furkid, that's not always the best thing to do and I'm glad you realized that and could find the dog a wonderful, loving home. Again - :welcome: back and thanks for the update on everyone!!

Jude18 I'm glad your back, how is the smoking situation? Sorry about Freckles-I always have a hard time to when one of my pets dies. We missed you.

Thanks for the update Judy. I'm so happy :tissues: that things continue to go so well for Charlie and the girls!! :cheer::cheer: Sorry to hear that you had a rough couple of months :hug2: - hope that things continue to look up for you. Sorry about the situation with Mikee didn't work out - you and Linda's hearts were in the right place, but I'm glad that you realized that the time wasn't right to bring another dog into your home.

What a nice update.

I know how special it is to hear from my adopters, I got to see two of "my boys" last weekend at a fundraiser and I cried. They looked wonderful. When we got them they were extremely obese & had bad teeth. One has cataracts & one has a heart murmur. They were with us for 5 months. I think the more medical issues & the longer they are with you the more you bond & the harder it is to let go. Seeing them was such a gift. Getting updates is such a gift. Pictures are wonderful. You'll never know how much it means to us foster parents to know these puppers are loved and well taken care of. Even if it's just a sentence, a paragraph, a picture, or a visit. It means the world to us. It's what keeps us going when times get tough.

Thank you for adopting and giving these critters a good home.

I can bet this means alot to Brenda!! :) :hearts:
