Ok, I cannot figure out how to use this thing. It's the $20 cordless one from Wal-Mart. In the directions, it says to loosen the "collet nut" by pushing down the shaft lock button until the lock engages and then loosen it by hand. And then insert the accessory (I'm assuming that's the one with the sandpaper on it?).
But it doesn't seem to loosen or tighten either way. It just turns. Or if I'm holding the lock thing down, it doesn't turn.
Am I just an Idiot??

Whew! Nevermind. It was just really tight. I had to use pliers to loosen it.
P.S. If someone wants to delete this whole topic, feel free.

I love the dremel too!! I'm charging mine up right now since it's time for manicuring my little men's nails. :)

We are moving very slowly with the dremel here. The 85-lb dog is more of a scaredy-cat than the 6-lb dog, hehe. Somehow when he first saw it, he knew it had something to do with toenails, and he backed up like he does and hid behind the couch. I just ignored that and played with Dottie and the dremel, praising her like crazy and giving treats for coming near and sniffing it. Finally, Jack couldn't stand it anymore and came tip-toeing over for some treats and attention. LOL. And the dremel didn't bite him!

I should get a new one. I have one that is really old and has the cord with it. Seeing as how I am not the best with it the cord makes it much harder to handle. The big thing is to use it! I have to say I am not the best with cutting nails.
Oh and be careful if you have a longhair or wire doxie. That hair can get caught and wrap around so fast. I have heard of people ripping out hair with it. I got a little caught once and it scared the **** out of me. Lucky it was just a little bit. I turned it off right away.

Oh yeah, Jack has scruffy feet, so I'll have to put pantyhose over his feet & poke his toenails through to keep the fuzzies out of the way. Gotta get pics of him in his pantyhose too, haha.
