Since we're doing some of these stories of our special babies, here's Obies. :D
It was over 3 years ago that an angel named Heide sent her wonderful husband, Dave to this “breeder from H@!!” to pick up 2 surrenders, Boone and another pup, his name escapes me. While there, this “person” pretty much threw a scared & badly abused & half starved little gray doxie at him and said “here take him”, see, Obie is a blue/tan and has genetic alopecia (he has no hair, except on his face, paws and tushie) and can’t make them any money anymore. He lived in a cage for so long; grass was a foreign object to him. So, Dave took him home and this sweet angel took him in and got him medical care and put him in rescue (along with Tammy, SirOliversMom’s baby girl). It was love at first sight! I seen his gray little face and just knew that I had to bring Obie home. Obie was in Jackson Mississippi and we are in St. Louis, Mo – so on a cold March day my hubby took me on a road trip to a K-Mart parking lot in Memphis, TN – our anniversary to pick up Obie. Obie became the velcro pup; he followed me everywhere and cried when I left his sight. I don’t know what they did to him, but it had to have been bad – that poor baby was just so scared of everyone and everything!! To just leave our house scared that baby so bad that his little heart would just beat almost out of his chest. He was so scared of Jim, took Obie 1 ½ years before he would go to him on his own, now they are best buddies. Obie still has some issues, he gets so scared if we take him places other then PetSmart and the vets, and running water just terrifies him.
But little Obie 1 has come so far – my little nekkid Goobie (peanuts in GA are called goobers and his is my little peanut) that I love with all my heart!!
Just being cute :hearts:
