Question about abbreviations...help please

help2:I've been looking at Dixie's Pedigree and noticed there are abbrevations before the names of the dogs. What does the CH mean on her mom's side??? And what do the letters and numbers listed on her dad's side mean?
For example this is in her pedigree on her mom's side:
CH Lowry Hill’s Dakota Snow ML (http://www.akc.org/store/reports/index.cfm?dog_id=HM87085605&defineditems=yes)

and then this is on her dad's side..what are the numbers at the bottom?
Kizzhar Kavalcade
KCSB 2284BW

AND on other pedigrees of other mini dachshunds there are these letters:
SA and NZ ....what do those mean???

I know CH means that this dog is a proven champion in dog shows (meets breed standards). and ML means miniature longhair. Not sure on the other ones :) Im sure someone else will give you more specifics who has show dogs or know..

We can't see the pedigree you're linking to since it's only for sale... but..
The CH or DC on front of a name indicates a conformation Champion or a Duel Champion (most commonly Conformation + Field Champion)
The letters after a name indicate other AKC titles a dog may have won in Obedience, tracking, agility, earthdog, rally
You may also see DNA numbers on males for those that have been DNA profiled... you may see OFA Certification for eyes and hips etc. You may also see the color the dog was registered as.
With some dachshund names you will see ML, SL, MW, SW, MS or SS where M = mini S = Standard and L,S & W indicate coat type.. this is part of the name and is put there by the breeder as part of the name.. it is not a requirement.

This looks like a Foreign Registration number too. SA & NZ are probably South Africa and New Zealand

Someone on the board pm'd me and said with all of the English Cream in her history she "could" have english cream pups....as you know....their dads side is FULL of EC. Actually her mom's side is also but does have some reds...shaded red.

Gosh Cathy, I'm not sure what relationship they are to one another, cuz my head is spinnin too!! This is too cool! Misty was born in Kentucky, though. So, my Misty has travelled a long, long way to get to me. She was purchased by a breeder in BC Canada. Then with a co-breeder came to Ontario. Misty is very well-travelled. Has flown many, many times.
And it sounds like Dixie has tons of EC in her.

ok so if im thinkin right...Misty is a generation ahead of Dixie...therefore Misty would be Dixies aunt on their fathers side. I guess if Misty is the sister of Dixies father...I think.

But it looks like they are related on their fathers side...I suposse...maybe. I tried!

wow they seem to have the same common breeder. The first name such as the "Lowry Hills" and "Devoncreams" are the breeders kennels name (not sure if you knew that or not) are both listed in both of their pedigree. Looks like they have ties with the same breeders

It is CH Lowry Hill's Dakota Snow ML!!! I still can't believe it. Out of all the doxies on DBB and ours are related:hug2:. I love it:hearts:. Okay, from what I can tell, is that Misty's Dad is Dixie's Great Grandfather. You also said Dixie had Kizzhar Kavalcade somewhere, as does Misty. I'm sort of thinking Misty is Dixie's Great Aunt, perhaps? Which means either a sister or brother of Misty's produced one of Dixie's parents. I'm going to send you a link to see if it means anything to you. It will have photos of litter one and litter two. Misty is a pup from litter one. But litter two would be siblings of Misty's from a different breeding. This is WAY cool! I love this!!:hearts::hearts::hearts: :happy030::happy030::happy030:

There's no "step" in breeding because there's no marriage, but there's 1/2 when one parent or the other is the same.

Learned this from my grandfather who bred Irish setters.

hmm So I was looking at Toby's breeders website at their new littler and it has the same line as some of your dogs...I dont think I can post the breeders site..so heres what I copied and pasted from the dads side. (which I met the dad and he was sooooo awesome and friendly...such a lover). He's the dad of the new litter...which I WAS going to get a dog from this litter, but changed my mind and got toby instead. Man If I could have gotten a dog from this litter...Mine would be related as well :)
