My three boys were all rescued. My two girls, Silver and Dreamer were gifts of love. Teak's mother tried to shove him under a dresser and kill him. The breeder (not a good one) was going to put him in the trash in a plastic bag. I asked and she gave him to me (he was only 3 days old). He lived in my bra for the first months of his life. Stomper came into our home 3 months later (same breeder), he had the same father but different mother than Teak. His mother died after delivary and same thing as Teak was going to happen. He was 1 day old. Begged for him and got him. So into the bra he went also. Rascel, Teak's full blood brother 6 months later was born and the breeder moved away and left 3 pups in the yard with no food or water (in Arizona with 102 degree weather and no shade). We could not save the other two, but after careful care, Rascel come thru just fine. He was 2 months old at the time. I do not know if these circumstances except for Rascel can be termed as adoption or rescue, but I would rather them to have died (if that was their destiny) in my hands and knowing warmth and love than in a plastic bag in a trash can or in the heat of a yard abandoned. I can not handle the mistreatment of any four legged.

Oh my good God that breeder sounds horrible! After rescuing those dogs I would have contacted the authorities - even if she moved I still would, because she is just going to do the same thing wherever she decides to end up. I'm glad you took in the ones you could save!

I have tears in my eyes reading your story. Breaks my heart. I can't even stand to think about it. But at least now your rescue babies know the love and happiness they all deserve. Bless you

It's too easy to be a breeder. I think we need much stronger laws that put these abusers in jail and more regulations/requirements for licensed breeders. (And lots of follow-up visits.)
That's terrific you were able to save your dogs from a horrible fate!!!

Pictures of my kids are in my album. I will get some current ones asap and add them. I can not see being without them and sometimes wonder about Teak (will be 11 in Dec, Stomper 10 in Feb and Rascel, just turned 10) Have no idea how long Dachsie's lifespans are.

Angels truly do walk among us. :thanx: for saving these innocent little dolls.
My heart can't bare to think about how some of our four-legged, best friends are mistreated.

You must have a magical bra! :) I, too, thank you for saving those furbabies as you did. And ITA the breeder should be reported and jailed - that's animal abuse! And to answer your question as to age, many dachsies live to be 16, 17, or even 20 - genetics and good care are crucial to age limits, from what I know. I've had dachsies for over 30 years, and most of mine have lived to at least 16 - from what the vet could tell, anyway - mine have all been rescues or adopted from a BYB (before I knew better!).

The person that calls herself a breeder is no more than a greedy *)^* and should be put in jail. OK now that I said that.
