Well this past Fri, Sat and Sun, Max finally got to see the beach, surf and sand. Lots of great memories at North Myrtle Beach during Bike Week.
Here are a few of the pics of them.

Great pics! Do they go in the water at all?

I was in South Florida last week and it was HOT at the beach. We only went once and even w/many trips in the water it was just too dang hot. The intercoastal is perfect though...we got a nice breeze and Maddie can wade in the water w/out getting waves crashing on her!

Certain parts allow it, certain do not. Some "DURING" Season allow it early in the AM or late evening. Each beach or local sets up times and hrs , there is no uniformity. 6 foot leash seems to be a standard and the area we were in had poop stations when you entered the beach.

Check out these sites for who does what.

They are beautiful pictures.

I would love for my dogs to know what sand feels like...they know too much what snow is like and to think that some dogs don't know what snow is! lol They love to lay in the sun and I always say they would love to retire in FL...I think it would be great for them to feel sand.

Maybe I should make that a goal of mine...for them to know what that feels like.

They are precious, and you take great pictures!!

Amy ,
How about a Sand box ? I found a kids plastic ,I think it is to be a lady bug , but I have seen Green "frog" it has a cover ,@ Toy-R-US. I got mine at resale baby shop for $10. I want to "train"my digger to use it instead of the yard .. I have to tell the crickets, and other critters to "hide in it".LOL

WE root for the Dach Squad to have sand in their toes ... and not in mom's house .

I actually have a small pen for my little ones in the backyard (4'X6') with a small dog house, and the area in front of the dog house is all sand so that they can dig. I actually replenish it twice during the summer, most of it winds up just outside the pen, but they have a ball. Sometimes when I'm out gardening I'll put them in there and I'll turn around and all you can see is sand flying everywhere. They have a great time!
