I wanted to help my friend Amy brag on her babies Laika and Owen (a rescue)
She was just at the nations last weekend....
Check this out!!!! How awesome is this....???:stars:
C-ATCH2 UAGII Laika Rocket PJI, NAP, NAJ, CnST, ChJU, ChSN, ChCl:stars:Laika was born Nov. 12, 2001 and we got her when she was 7 weeks old.
Laika began competing in CPE agility in mid-2004 and we gradually moved on to other venues. She ran her first AKC trial in 2008. She is one of very few dachshunds competing and titling in USDAA agility, receiving her first title in 2008.
Laika also enjoys Earthdog and Field Trials. She was second place Novice dog in the Wolverine Dachshund Club's fall event, held at the Beagle Club in Addison, MI.
Laika is a typical dachshund; very strong-minded, clever, and more than a little stubborn. Competing in agility with her has been challenging but so very rewarding.

C-ATCH Owen PG1, PK1, NAP, ChST:loveshower:
Owen is a smooth black and tan miniature dachshund who was given up by his elderly owner when she couldn't care for him anymore. We found him on petfinder.com. His birth date is sometime in 2002.
Owen began competing in CPE agility in July of 2006 and received his Championship in November of 2007. He has since begun competing in and titling in AKC and USDAA events. Owen has an AKC ILP number, allowing him to do AKC agility and earthdog.
Owen is both very smart and very eager to please, making him a joy to train. He is a rather timid dog, so I started him in agility to boost his confidence. He surprised me by being so good at it and he really loves doing it.
As of right now, Owen doesn't enjoy earthdog but we keep trying.

:wahooo: How exciting! I am new to DBB, but have been wanting to chat with someone about agility. I have just started my 2.5 yr old Dachshund, Josie, in an introductory agility class. She's smart, a pleaser, and VERY food-motivated, so she's doing great. I am interested in taking this further, but I don't really know the best ways to go about it. I would love to talk to your friend!

Wonderful! I do agility with Zoe and she does great. I think many doxies can have the natural talent to do and to enjoy agility.
