View Full Version : 1 Year With Sadie and Spartacus

Well, it was 1 year ago today that I went down to Augusta and brought home Sadie and Spartacus.

Sadie and her partner Spartacus lived in Augusta, Maine for a very long time. Sadly, their owner recently passed away, leaving Sadie and Spartacus without a home. They ended up in the Kennebec Valley Humane Society, the same place that our Auggie was rescued from just 9 months earlier.

Sadie dealt with her new situation well, but Spartacus did not. He was prety freaked out for a while, but eventually he calmed down. Both Sadie and Sparty were overweight and Sadie had some skin issues and some matting in her fur. But I was soon headed to Augusta to pick up the pair to prepare them for adoption through DRNA.

Well, After just a short time in our house, my wife declared that these guys were already home and that we are not adopting them out.

Sadie was extremely overweight a year ago, weighing in at about 18 pounds. She is down to 12 pounds now, mostly fluffy fur!

Happy Gotcha Day Sadie and Spartacus. I just love Sadie's crazy fluffy hair. I'm almost ENVIOUS. :D What a blessing to have given these two a second chance on life, and a blessing that have had on your pack! :bighug: for you all in celelbration of Gotcha! :)

How old are they?? I just love the pics. esp of the ones of them together:D

I don't think I could have given them up either.

Mike & I were just talking that it's been 10 months since we got Miss Vanna, it's crazy how time flies and can't imagine not ever having her. Bet you guys feel the same way:wavesmile:

Aren't they just THE cutest things!!
I can't believe Sadie lost THAT much weight!! That's a third of her body weight! That's a good deal for her!

:GGotcha: Sadie and Spartacus. Paul, I can't believe it's been a year, I remember you first posting that pic of Sadie on the Rock with the wind blowing through her fur. She looks great, and so does Spartacus, healthy and happy.

I love them both! Sadie is a furball and I just want to pet her and give her a huge hug. Spartucus looks so regal posing on the rock. He is such a handsome man. I could have a good give him a good belly rub!
