I wondering how hot people make the water when they give their dachsies a bath? I usually make it a little warmer than lukewarm, and they seem fine with that. However, they seem to really hate the baths, and usually start shivering quite a bit when they are being dried off, so I thought they may hate it because it was too cold.

Before I put them in the water I put 2 towels in the dryer on hot, so when I get them out of the water the first towel gets most of the water and its warm to them then the 2nd towel I bundle them up in cause they are still a lil damp but the towel being hot helps with the chills.

It's probably just the change from warm to cool. Have you ever given a 2 year old child a bath? Splish Splashing away....When it's time to dry off they act like they are absolutely freezing...(even in the middle of July). ;)

The water should be warm...there skin is much more sensitive than ours.
If it is winter time here (don't laugh, yes we have winters and it can actually get in the 40's) :0210:
I put a space heating in the bathroom when I bath them...
