My wife found her on Petfinder.com, which is where we found Maggie a couple years ago ..

Look at how cute she is!!! of course, she's not too far from us.. .

I don't know how well I can restrain myself.. we've been contemplating getting a companion for Maggie for a while.. and I love the terrier mix in this one..

She's adorable...looks like a little wire there!! :hearts:

Good thing she's not close to me... My little men would love her & I'll bet Maggie would too!! :puppyluv:

You won't believe how much difference having a little sister or brother makes in an only dog!!! Brings a lot of joy to their lives.

She's a doxie/terrier mix (Maggie is a Doxie/Chihuahua mix - we think.. ).. the ONLY problem is that my wife and I have a short trip planned on July 8th-11th .. so if we did go get her this weekend, we'd have her at home for 2 and a half weeks, then we'd be turning around and leaving for 4 days (of course, our petsitter would be coming over every day) ...

We've been wanting to get a second dog to keep Maggie company (and of course, for us to love on!), .. and this one is such a cutie, she's hard to pass up.. but I wouldn't want to traumatize her by leaving her for 4 days so shortly after bringing her home...

any suggestions?

She is gorgeous, I say go for it b'c if you tell the rescue or the place that she is at,. your situation, etc they can work things out. I would start the application asap :) and ITA having 2 makes a huge difference and my 2 just adore each other :)

I was hoping that... I actually called them today to find out if we went to see them this weekend, and if we liked the pooch, could we pay, and then pick her up after our vacation - they said they couldn't do that due to space restrictions.. which I understand.. She's a cutie, so I'm sure she wouldn't have a problem getting adopted..

I think we're gonna go see her tomorrow..

would it be appropriate for us to bring maggie to see how they interact?

Maggie always gets along really well with other dogs (especially small ones).

Yes, take Maggie with you. Most rescues/shelters actually ask that you bring your dog to meet the new dog to see how they get along. Good Luck, she sure is a cutie pie.:sillylove:

She is a cutie for sure. I think it would be fine for her. She will have Maggie with her. If you do go tomorrow please let us know how it went.

Take Maggie & walk them together.. Don't forget some good treats.

You know - while you're gone for 4 days & have a sitter...the doggies could be playing & keeping each other company..They won't even miss you.. :D

Please let us know what you decide.

I'm REALLY bummed... I just checked Petfinder and the Rescue's website to get directions to drive down there tomorrow, and the dog is no longer listed :( I think they may have already found her a home ... I'm gonna call tomorrow.. but I'm not gonna get my hopes up...

I got Zoe, had her 3 nights, went away 4 nights and then was back for good. She stayed with a friend and their dog while I was gone and was fine. I didn't plan to get a dog till after the vacation but I could not pass her up!
