View Full Version : Nail Trimming Question
Tucker's Mom

OK, first of all I don't do "feet". :D I leave that to the groomer. Tucker is going to the groomer next Wednesday; but....his nails need to be trimmed now (the clicking makes me crazy and I am anal about keeping his feet done). I'm afraid if I wait almost a week (and just buy some ear plugs:sofunny: that she won't be able to take enough off.
So, here are my questions: If I take him today just to have his feet done, will she still be able to trim more off his nails next week? Would this be the best idea?
TIA from Tucker's anal hoomom

I would think if you took him today that would work out great. If she can take some off today and then again on Wed. maybe she can get them extra short and he won't click before time to go again.
I do mine with the dremel but if I let them get too long I do them as short as I feel comfortable; I can see the quick on a couple nails and tehn wait about 3-4 days and do some more until they are very short again.

Maybe if you thought of them as "hands". :D

ROFL - you crack me up! Somehow I don't think changing the name of the appendage would do the trick. LOL
I love the picture of Beau's nice short "hands" that you PM'd me. Maybe I could do a dremel - I just hate using nail clippers. I'm sooooo afraid of getting the quick or him jerking or something. I told DH when we got Tucker that I would do his nails (never have done any other of the dachsies); but, after buying the guilitine clippers, I chickened out.:faint:

they say to get them short, to do them two weeks in a row.
