I'm not sure if I am bragging about my puppy or my new digital camera! (Thank you to everyone in the Chat Sunday night for encouraging me to make this purchase. And also for educating me so I could make a wiser choice.)
Now I have to learn to use it. :D
Here is one of my first attempts. Willow is a bit put out. She sees the camera as competition for my attention and stomps away when I pull it out! But tonight I had it sitting next to me while I was holding Willow's chewy for her. I slowly raised the camera with my free hand and got this image.

Willow with her chewy.
I think this is the most true her beautiful red coloring has photographed.
Now to practice practice practice so I can take pictures as wonderful as I have seen on this group!

Annie! :)
Good choice getting the camera instead of the new dress! :D Like we said . . . ya don't have to take the camera to the cleaners after each use and it will never go outta style. ;)
Thanks for sharing Willow with us! Such a sweetie!

Willow is her usual beautiful self and camera captured it all. Agree, she does have a beautiful color.
Looking forward to seeing more.

she is a cutie! The picture qualitiy really is great too, her color is so pretty. I have been wanting a digital camera also so I can take lots of shots of Rudy ( do you ever tire of dachsies or will I always be this crazy about mine!!??) I'll probably have to wait awhile for a camera - what kind did you get - brand name and how many pixel? I hope you get lots of enjoyment and great shots of Willow, pictures to capture all of her special ways!

For those who want the details:
My new camera is a Fuji Finepix 2800z
2.0 megapixel
6x Optical zoom
Uses Smart Media Cards
I read some good reviews on this camera. I would have liked to have gotten the 3800z. It is a 3.0 megapixel and has a threaded lens housing to use filters and such. But the price was just too high. I do not do much in the way of printing large photos. So the 2.0 is probably plenty for my needs.
The only short coming I have found (and was aware of before making my choice) is that it does not have an "AF assist light", to help focus in low-light. My house is pretty dark this time of year in the evening. So I am having a bit of trouble with that. But most of my photography is outdoors or in well lighted places. (Like the museum) so I felt the 6x zoom was a more important feature for me. I might have to go buy another lamp for the livingroom!
Here is a pic of the camera model (The 3800z looks almost the same.)

If you would like to read one of the reviews:
http://www.digitalcamerabasics.com/good.htm
It is listed not quite half way down the page.
I have a lot to learn. But it is pretty simple to use. And has a few nice extra features to play with when I get a bit better.
I promise not to spam you all with pictures of Willow! :D
-annie (much happier with this than a dress!)
PS, Circuit City has a pretty darn good price on this model! Better than eBay!
