Bridgette was adopted on Feb.5 2007. Her owner had passed away. She had medical problems since I got her. She is around 5-7 years. She is going into surgery tomorrow for a full bladder of stones. Please pray for her. She will be on a special prescription diet for the rest of her life. She loves carrots and that will be her cookies. She is the most loving baby that anyone could ask for. She loves to cuddle. I pray she will be fine tomorrow. I just wish the vets would have figured this problem out before it got this big. I feel like it is my child going into surgery. Any suggestions on how to care for her after surgery would be greatly appreciated. I know she will not be able to jump up so I have her freshly washed bed waiting for her and I will have to be with her on the floor. She loves to lay against me all the time. I will put her in my bed with me when we go to sleep though. I will update tomorrow or the next day depending on how things go. Thanks for your prayers.........Donna

Rays:rayz::rayz::rayz: and Prayers:pray::pray::pray: for your baby. You might want to keep her on a bland diet for a few days. chicken and Rice, baby food is good. I'm sure your vet will tell you what to give her. Have pedialyte at home. Plain pumpkin should also be good for her as a little treat.
Thanks for taking her in.

Prayers for your precious baby! And lots of rays too! Our Elizabeth had stones too,the doctor gave them to me after. They were humongus!!!!! There were over a 100 of them and some were the size of walnuts,it was unbelieveable,but she did okay after her surgery. She was bouncing around once the pain let up,she was so relieved to be empty of stones. The doctor put her on some special canned food that was pure white. She wouldn't eat it. LOL!! Your baby will be okay!! just lovey on her!!:rayz::rayz::rayz::crsfnger::pray::pray::hearts:

Bridgette is home and they also took out a tumor.......sending for a biopsy. The stones were plentiful and some were giant! I got to take home the stones, or shall I say Rocks! OMG! The doc said they just kept coming out. I believe he never seen so many. She is resting on Star, my shepard mix's bed. I will sleep on the couch next to her for the 3 days. She usually sleeps with me but I'm afraid she'll try to get off it. Gonna be a long time for recovery. Keep her in your prayers, please for the results of the tumor....Thanks again for your concern, no one knows how we feel unless you have a dog that you love so much. Some people at work said they would never pay $1200.00 for a dog, I'd pay anything! It ended up to be 1328 today and more to come but we'll somehow get her to health. The doc didn't even charge to remove the tumor because he saw how much I was upset over her health. of course the biopsy was added and luckily we had it to pay. I'll kiss Bridgette for you and thanks again. I will update....p.s. she peed yellow..not red!!!!!!! Donna:hearts::pray:

Thank you for your sweet concern, Bridgette is doing so well. She acts like there's nothing wrong. She rests more though as understood. I have to watch her closely for she likes to jump on and off things. GOD bless you and your family also!!!:yahoo:

Sending Bridgette many quick recovery :rayz::rayz::rayz:'s. I can just imagine how much better she is going to feel having all those rocks out of her system.
When are they going to let you know about the tumor? I am :pray: that it is benign and that her health is restored. You are her very own personal :angel9: Bless you both.:hug2:

Sorry I am late to this, but recovery and healing :rayz::rayz::rayz: on the way for Bridgette. It really chaps my hide when people say they'd never pay so much for surgery! That's usually when I ask, "So, if your child had an appendicitis attack, you'd not get surgery?" That's when people who are acquainted with me, remember that I do not have human kids, but furkids. :candle: that the tumor is benign, also.

I just now saw this thread---sorry it took me so long to reply. This is such a coincidence, because my Coco is going in on Tuesday for Bladder Stones also. She has a wicked UTI and pain to boot. She also loves to jump and play, and I will have a sore Coco after surgery, I'm sure. I'm glad I saw your post finally---now I know Coco will have to be on a special diet for good.

Rays:rayz::rayz::rayz:for your baby's swift recovery!

Ursula
