I am hosting a small wedding shower next weekend and I thought I would make wraps.

I don't want them too complicated because I want to make them in the morning and have them ready to put out without any fuss.

Something that uses sliced deli meat would be ideal.:D

There are tons on the web I know but tried and true recipes would be way better!

I use deli roast beef for this recipe. If the tortillas are warm, they are easier to work with.
4 flour tortillas (10 inches), warmed
1 carton (8 ounces) spreadable chive and onion cream cheese
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded cheese of your choice (I use Monterey Jack or Cheddar)
1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef
Leaf lettuce
Directions:
Spread one side of each tortilla with cream cheese; layer with the carrots, cheese, beef and lettuce. Roll up tightly and wrap in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Cut in half or into 1-in. slices. Yield: 4 servings.

Another good one is to use deli roast beef, deli cole slaw and some swiss cheese. Wrap and keep chilled till serving time.

Both of these can be done in the morning. The easier the better I think! If you want to make them look festive, tie a piece of green onion sliver around it.

Would you consider beef or chicken satay? Great shower food, on skewers for dipping!!! :)

I've had a recent obsession with BLT wraps. Mayo, leaf lettuce, bacon, and tomato with the seeds removed so they don't get too 'juicy'. ADd turkey to it and make it a 'club' type wrap. I'll sometimes I add in very thinly sliced red onions, and/or avocodo.

I'll make veggie wraps ... cream cheese spread on the bread, leaf lettuce, thinly sliced onion, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, alfalfa sprouts, sprinkled with sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds to give a bit of crunch. I'll ususally drop in a few pepperocinis for some zing. I'll usually add salt and pepper if I'm doing veggie wraps.

I've been experimenting with recipes trying to find a green goddess dressing that I like to use on the veggie wraps. So far I haven't found anything that matches the memory of the green goddess of my childhood. I think it's a good concept - just haven't found the right dressing.

Sometimes I'll make a pesto mayo and use that with turkey or chicken wraps, sometimes, I'll mix some cranberry sauce with the cream cheese for turkey wraps. I've also made a sundried tomato 'pesto' as the spread and use that with beef wraps.

Hope something there will strike a cord.

Well so far, these ideas are way better than what I could come up with it! :thanx: for taking the time to write them out!!

Barb, I love satay chicken!! But with the theme I've got going, I think the wraps will be better. I'm still watching my weight so I will only be eating half a wrap.:D
