I was going through some old phtos today and I came across this picture of my mother's first dachshund, Heidi the 1st (there have been three more to follow). The picture is circa 1969.

I had been around dachsies since I was a little boy. My Gram's neightbor had "Penny"

There were many Penny's throught the years... they were all red standards... and most of them... were overweight ;)

Penny would always run over to see us when we came over... tail waggin.... belly draggin :) now I know... she never should have been that "large" :)
