Biscuit is growing up quickly! She's 3 months & 1 week old now. She's doing great - no problems with her hernias. In fact, I don't see them bulging out at all anymore. I don't know if this means they have closed up on their own or...? I look when she's rolled over playing and I just don't see anything poking out. Biscuit will be spayed after Christmas, so I guess I'll find out then what is going on with her hernias. She's just a fireball who loves to play and CHEW!!! And she's such a sweetheart! If she's napping, she wants to be laying on one of us, up close to our faces. She snuggles in as close as she can get to you. Such a baby! She's learning to leave Max alone and they are getting along good. Sometimes if she gets too playful, I take Max into another room with me. Most of the time they wander around together with no problems at all. Her potty training is not going so great. I know she's young and it will take time. I take her out often. She seems to know what to do when I take her out...she goes and then runs back looking for her treat for a job well done...she uses the doggy door. But...she still goes inside too. She doesn't understand that ALL potty goes outside...or she just doesn't care! Here's a picture of Biscuit at 3 months!:sillylove:

I took Biscuit for a shot today. They say she weighs 8 lbs!!! Can that be?! She's just a tiny little thing...it's really hard to believe she weighs that much!

I mentioned that I hadn't seen her hernias at all lately. I was hoping they'd say they had closed up on their own. But...no, they said "Oh, yeah...I can feel them. They're still there. You can push them back in." It makes me nervous knowing they're still there, but...she's doing good so far and can have her surgery in late December just after Christmas. I'll be SO glad when that's done and I know she's okay. Right now she and Max are curled up together having a nap. They're so adorable! She's exhausted from her trip to the vet's office. Biscuit yelps when they just reach for her. They don't even do anything and she yelps out of fright. My little baby.

I think Biscuit needs to be socialized more, but the vet's office warned me about exposing her to too many places until she's fully vaccinated...another 3 weeks I think.

Ruthi... Max has been through so much with me and I have to tell you...he is just THE coolest dog ever!!! He just goes along with anything that comes his way and he's as gentle as can be. He still gets lots and lots of "one on one" time with me, away from Biscuit. He's such a special guy. Coming up on December 19th, we will have had him for 13 years! (We think he will be about 14 then...the pound said he was a year or so old when we got him.)
What's really nice is that Biscuit has some puppy rawhide type chewy-things that she starts and then leaves. Well, Max gets ahold of them and chews on them because they're soft enough for him. He LOVES rawhides and hasn't been able to have them since he had 19 teeth taken out. Now...he can chew on rawhides again because he has pre-chewed puppy softer ones! He's a happy guy...you should see him - he just loves them! It's funny to see them running around the backyard together...this senior guy and this tiny puppy...but both happy - and well-loved by their mama! :sillylove::sillylove:
