My 3 year old dachshund has loose knee caps. The vet took x-rays and did an intense exam. Her suggestion is to get an Orthopedic surgeon opinion. I need suggestions on where to go in Michigan. She suggested MSU Veterinary Hospital and OVRS. Is there any place else and how do I know which is the best place to go. I need not only the best but reasonable cost. What is a normal cost for this surgery? Both back knees will need to be done.

Is there any one else with this problem and how do you deal with your best friend going through surgery. Will he be normal when the surgery is complete? So many more question and not sure where to ask.

OVRS is excellent! See their site at www.ovrs.com (http://www.ovrs.com) and see our experiences with them for both our mini's in my posting under "back problems/paralysis".
They are very nice, in fact, after Duck Butter's surgery Dr. Wolfe would carry her around on his rounds to check on his other canine patients.
