We're being cautious, but optimistic. Annie has not let out a yelp in nearly three weeks; she was on strict crate rest through the end of last week and is now allowed a little more "freedom." We've been watching her very, very carefully---no steps, stairs, jumping on or off furniture. We even gave her a quarter of a puppy valium for her toenail trimming tonight. She hates that toenail trimming and struggles with it sooo much, squirming all over the place. With the valium (and she'd just had a warm bath and a nap in front of the fireplace), she was very calm and gave dh little trouble with the toenails. No squirming. Maybe we should've been using valium for her toenail trimming all along? j/k!!!! We also tried to get her to do a little swimming, but we couldn't fill our tub high enough. We'll have to find an alternative.
Anyway, I'm still watching her like a hawk and will whisk her off to the emergency animal hospital if necessary :afraid: But maybe, just maybe, we've thwarted this, at least for the time being.
(And she's still getting tons of crate time, too.)
