Female Excreting milk

I am wondering if someone knows why my female mini doxie has milk coming from her nipples. She has not been spayed but I am POSITIVE she is not pregnant. I thought maybe it was a flux in her hormones but it has never happened before. Any Idea?

She could be experiencing a very severe false pregnancy. I would recommend, just on the off chance that she 'might' be preggie, that you take her in for a vet check. If it is a false pregnancy, although many of my bitches have experienced them, my vet always tells me that it is very hard on the bitch's system to go through these time after time and you might want to consider spaying her if you do not intend to breed.

When we brought Dolly home over a year ago, she was going thru a false pregnancy. She swelled up and dripped milk all over the place. Another thing she did was corral a small stuffed animal and swore it was her baby. She would place it under her and think she was nursing it. Must say, she was a bit on the grumpy side too, but maybe that's because we called her "baby" UGLY. It was a little stuffed rhino. This condition lasted about 2 weeks then we got her spayed. No problems after that.
