Okay, after long, deep and serious conversations over dinner, we've decided to go ahead and adopt Moe a brother. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I introduce...Dexter:

He's 9 weeks old and will be shipped to us from Adelaide next week. His dad's name is Aust & UK Ch Minimead Maximus, his mum is Aust Ch Stardayne Memories. We've asked for him without papers for the time being until we see how his prey drive develops and then maybe we'll register him for Earthdog. If we do, his registered name will be Stardayne Desperately Seeking Dexter. Yes ladies and gents, we names the new pup after a fictional serial killer :Sun2:

Now, it's important to realize the Graham has already given little tiny Dexter a nickname...Gazpacho. (now this is obscure, go with me). Gazpacho is a spanish soup served cold, and Graham is already giggling at the fact that Moe is going to cop puppy teeth! Therefore, Graham considers Dexter to be revenge...which is...a dish best served cold.

Hee hee hee oh he's SOOOOOO freakin' cute!! Love the name also... and love the nickname... myself, not such a fan of gazpacho.... but that little pup is as cool as a cucumber....like the one's IN gazpacho...:Sun2:

I hope Moe loooooves him!! :sillylove:

OMG he's adorable. Any way you can get him transported via car? Before i became very knowledgable, I transported Camilla in cargo on the plane (I can barely type that) and I truly believe it played a role in her anxiety and problems. I know some dogs take it no big deal, but she just didn't. In retrospect, if there was another way I would have taken it. I know people do it all the time, but I'm really against cargo shipping of animals.

Other than that, I'm thrilled for you guys. That pup is just beyond adorable :sillylove: and I can't wait to see this beauty grow up. What a cutey patootie and his name is awesome.

Sure didn't take long for you to make up your minds!! :) He is absolutely adorable - got my puppy fix for the day, thanks very much. I'm glad you're into the housetraining, etc.; I'd rather adopt adults and avoid all that - but your furbaby is VERY cute!!! Congrats!!! And yes, if you can avoid shipping him by airplane, please do so! I had a horror story with a puppy, and I know others have them, too!

Congrats on your new baby,he is adorable.
And just in time for Christmas.
As far as shipping, I know and understand what other people are saying, but all 3 of mine were shipped with no lasting anxiety.
I actually just flew to AZ with mine in Feb, and was nervous about it because they had been shipped, but they flew in cabin with me and they were fine.
Even on the trip home, which wound up double time expected due to blizzard in Boston, MA.
So I guess do what you have to do, I believe they will forget it in time (JMHO)

He is just darling. I hope his trip to you goes smoothly. Can't wait to see
:photo:'s of him with Moe.
I could help but notice...does he have back dew claws? Are you planning to have them taken off? Ally has her front ones but wasn't born with back ones.

Well, it looks like our baby will be coming home on the 23rd. With Moe, I did try and avoid the air shipping issue, but after chats with his breeder we realized that the 40 minutes in the plane is potentially less dangerous for him than 8 car hours and potential serious car sickness. Moe bounced out of it very quickly and I have fingers and toes crossed that Dex will as well.

We've gone ahead and cancelled our Christmas Day plans for a BBQ at friends house - she's a dog person and realizes that the pup comes first. We've got two weeks at home with the little guy to get him comfortable and settled.

More pictures just before Christmas!

Ha ha ha that is where my Dexter got his name from too. I loved that show. I don't have showtime but saw the eidted version that CBS ran last year.

He is adorable. My Dexter says "awesome pawsome name"

:party011::party011::party011: Wow, Juliette - you sure moved fast!! He is a cutie-patooty and it's great that you'll have a couple of weeks to get him settled into your home. Oh boy, there's going to be lots of fun ahead for you :wonky::wonky::wonky: - we'll be watching for :photo:!!

OMGosh!!! He is so incredibly beautiful!!! I almost cried...he looks jut like my Murphy (now at the bridge) when he was a baby. I think everyone on the board should move to one area so we could actually hug and kisses each other's puppers. But we gotta choose somewhere warm...the temp tonight is supposed to be 10 to 15 degrees below zero (not counting the windchill) OUCH!

I get to drive out to the airport at 4:00pm to pick up darling Dexter! I chatted with the freight team in Adelaide this morning, and they know my breeder very well. They will make sure that the little guy is as comfortable and secure as possible for his quick trip to Melbourne (flying time is less than 1 hour). Once he's here, it's a quick trip across the tarmac to the freight terminal and then he's all ours.

We had a bit of a panic this morning as the original flight he was scheduled to come on was cancelled. Fortunately the Adelaide freight team did wonders and assigned a space on an earlier flight for the little guy. Assuming all goes well, the VirginBlue freight team in Adelaide will be getting a BIG thank you letter from me, which I'll copy to the VirginBlue CEO.

We'll make sure we get some photos of Dex's meeting with his big brother Moe!
