April 19th is International Dachshund Lover Meetup Day. The Meetups take place at 2:00 pm. For information go to:

http://dachshund.meetup.com/

I'm planning to go to the one in Houston. We had 7 people and 6 dogs last month. It was really fun. Anyone planning to go, please go to the website and sign up. If there are not enough people signed up they will cancel it. If you live in the Houston area, email me and we'll plan to meet there. Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Hey, where are all the doxie lovers out there? I know there's more than this! We need to get them out to these Meetups. Any one have any ideas how? I don't get it I was thrilled to find one and had a great time at the last meet.

I just signed up... and it appears that Seattle is the #2 meet up city behind NYC. Cool.
Thanks lotsadox for the DBB post about this event.

I just found out the city of Longview is having "Dog Days" at one of the local parks on the same day. Which, it sounds really cool. They're gonna have some neat contests and give aways. BUT, tickets are expensive. $15/ adult, $10 children under 12. Ticket sales benefit the Gregg Co. Humane Society. Granted it's for a good cause, but it would cost me $50 to take my whole family!

I have to work what a bummer! Oh well gotta pay for all those doggie treats!
Wisconsin isn't the best either for getting together. I have been watching the different areas. I figure if I can't make it in my neck of the woods I'll have to drive to some other city. Like my home town! It sounds like fun though. :bounce: I wanna go play with all the other doxies! I am pouting!!!!!:sarcastic Guess I will just have to go to a doxie specialty. LOL

Ours is cancelled too!! So disappointing!! Probably Mei Mei and Willy might meet at a open cafe at Coconut Grove instead. We'll see!

If I want to drive 90 minutes after a rushed luch and showerr I just might be able to make the meeting in Denver. Hard to get too motivated when I know I'll be getting up early to help setup for our big race, run the half marathon then help clean up. With a little luck I might be home by noon and the Denver meeting is 2:00. The other big if is snow is in the prediction for Saturday. I printed out directions and teh map but right now I will have to say teh odds are against us making themeeting this month.

The Houston Meetup only had 3 people yesterday, but they haven't cancelled yet. Hopefully, we'll get two more before Saturday.

The Madrid meeting is cancelled too. Just when we'd decided to pry ourselves off the couch and go. Oh well, maybe another month.

More and more people are signing up for the Houston meetup lotadox! ;) Guess I'll see you Saturday!

I'm sure there are tons of Doxie lovers who would love to go to a Meetup but don't know about them. I can't help but think, everytime I am in a pet store (like Petco or PetsMart) I see a Dachshund or two! Maybe putting up flyers on their bulletin boards would help get the word out in those cities that don't quite have enough. Don't fret too much though, Houston didn't have enough when I first signed up either!
