OK... so I teased you with the subject... :D I finally found something that looked close to Willow's "Foxy". I was going to get the fox looking one... but Jake had already picked the skunk... As long as that is the only skunk he ever gets... I'm OK with it ;)

I hope skunky didn't spray!!

I looked at this photo and laughed - we think our dogs have too many toys. Next to Jake, they are deprived and abused puppers!

Congrats Jake on your "kill"
:D

Jake is so cute!! Good thing that is not a real skunk! :D

Is Jake starting to turn into a black and tan? It looks like some tan is showing up. :)

Jake has always beena black and tan... I think the camera angle and the thinning from the food. And he now blushing a little from being called cute ;)

(Juliette - are you saying yours don't have many toys? lol!) I notice Jake leaves his toys laying around! When I only had Heidi-Angel, I had trained her to put her toys away at night. Then, when she was three, and I got Gretl, Gretl refused to do it! It only took Heidi a few days to decide she would no longer put them away either!:crying:
Bob - I love the way Jake looks like he has a striped head in the lower photo! :)

And here is Willow with Foxy (No. 2). Willow was 14 months. Foxy No. 2 went to that big doggy toy heaven later that evening! (insert Death March music here)

Willow is beautiful and has very pretty coloring. She also looks like she is smiling in her pictures. :D

blazeman,

Many years ago, I rescued some kittens that had been abandoned. Only one of them lived. I had to still bottle-feed it.

One day, my grandfather-in-law told me to get rid of the skunk. I told him it was a kitten. He kept on insisting that it was a skunk. So I compared its behavior and looks with my husband's kittens. Sure enough, my little kitten/skunk waddled, had short legs, was slightly pudgy, and wasn't growing as lean and fast as the other kittens. She also was very clingy and not interested in exploring her world. One night, she did something naughty, and I scolded her and she gave off a mini-smell. :flush: :yikes: That was the final clue.

We had a vet look at her and he said that it looked like she was the result of a a rare skunk and cat get-together. He said that was probably why the kittens were abandoned.

Willow is definitely smiling in that photo!!! :) Did you train her to do that or is she a natural?

Juneysmom: I liked your story. How old were you when it happened? What happened to the kittunk in the end?

Blazeman: López says how come Jake has more toys than him. We told him because Jake probably lets them live longer, but he just narrowed his eyes at us and sulked...

I just hope he doesn't find out about the Dachsie Worldwide Domination plan. :afraid: (We try to keep him out of politics)

Check out this link. I think that vet may need his license checked.

I think that vet was pulling your leg. Cats and skunks cannot interbreed. Not the same species at all and the DNA just won't mix. Sorry to dispell a fond childhood memory. I just had a hard time buying that one. I'm a big fan of the urban legends and this one sounded like one, but I couldn't find it on the sites. It took some investigating but I found the link above. I think this is a myth purveyed by Warner Brothers cartoons and Pe Pe Lepew
(Once again, I apologise for being so blunt. Perhaps I should not mention anything about the Easter Bunny or Santa)
