Yes- this should be for ME. But does anyone know of a doggie cookie recipe that might be appropriate for a slightly (only slightly) chubby senior.?We want to keep Gunther's back as good as it is.

Try these pumpkin treats. You'll need to look for the Tapioca flour in a health food store.
pumpkin treats is 1 cup of pumpkin, 2 cups of tapioca flour (you can find it at Whole Foods and Sprouts), and a little molasses. You mix this up and spread it out on a cookie sheet lined with release foil. Bake it at a low temp - 170 to 200 degress. I usually let it bake for an hour then peel it up, flip it over and cook the other side.

I make fat free cookies for my dogs - I make flour by processing dried oats in the blender - adding enough mashed carrots or green beans to make a stiff dough. I make little flattened rounds and put them in the dehydrator till they are rock hard - my dogs all love them. You can other things too - I've made them with pureed cooked liver; banana and a dab of peanut butter. I've used low fat plain yogurt as well.
Thanks for both recipes !!!
