If you are traveling on the road this summer, or whenever, this is a great crate. What I love about it is that it collapses down so it takes very little room in the car, but when you need it, you've got it.:party011::party011::party011:

It's called: Care Eze

nice crate. I had a collapsable one, but it was mesh. It had rod type things in all 4 corners, you could collapse them. Also you could remove the cover to wash. However, we took it to the beach and it got sand inside of the rod..things and it never worked the same EVER AGAIN!

I have two of these crates. They are very sturdy. The handle makes it easy to carry the crate. I got a pad, and I leave it in the crate. Then I collapse it. We drove up to Oregon and Washington last summer. We brought the crate with us. It was collapsed most of the time, however, when we needed it, we needed it. The sides, top, and bottom are plastic, however, the door is metal. You can open the door from either side. Lola is 12 lbs. She fits just fine in it.

Oh, and it's about $55.00, which isn't too bad when you are short of room in a car and a regular crate just takes up too much room.

This is a great idea for transporting rescue pups. I do not need a crate for the car with Ty, but if transport it would be a good idea.

this crate looks really nice and very convenient!
i cannot tell what the 'locking system' is to keep this crate in an open position, but it looks to me to need some beefing up to assure no accidental collapse with a squished dachshund inside.
i should be easy enough to attach additional hardware or tie downs to ensure its integrity.

This would be great for our trip to NH. The only time they will be in it is if we have to run out to dinner or the grocery store. Or when we go to the outlet for a few hrs. I could probably put all 3 in there for a short time if I had to, rather than bring all 3 crates with me and take up a ton of room.

Eileen I don't think its big enough for 3 dogs.

I have these crates and unless your dogs are about the size of a dwarf rabbit, three will not fit. One dog, tops. I have one for each of my pups. They are very sturdy when set up. The front end and the back end flip down from the top and lock into place. If you look at the picture, you can sort of see at the bottom, at either end there is a little slide lock. That's what locks the bottom in. Very secure. They will not collapse when set up correctly. In fact, I have to really work on them to collapse. What you mentioned, going to dinner, or away for a few hours, these work perfectly. Also, we have been in a hotel where they needed to be crated, and they worked beautifully. Then, instead of taking so much room up in the car, they collapse and just take a little room. Check out the measurements on the ad. You can see that there is no way 3 dogs will fit. The link that i provided is the cheapest price that I could find on the net. You can check around, but this isn't a bad price. Oh, and by the way, a couple of the little knobbies on the door came off, and I emailed the manufacturer, they sent me two brand new doors.... Not bad.

It's the best collapsible that I have found. Better than the soft sided ones also. It's just like a regular crate, but with the convenience of being able to reduce the amount of space in your car that regular crates take up.

You can tell by the measurements thats not big enough for 3--I think its a great travel crate though. I'm thinking of getting a couple instead of the soft sided I have. We do a lot of traveling to Tucson, and our little guys usually go along.

Yes, I just read it over and you are definitely right, 1 each. But it's so much more convenient and space efficient than bringing their 3 crates from home. Also the time having to breakdown and redo their crates, this makes much more sense. I think I'll order 3 in a couple of weeks, so I know they are on their way. Then I can just put small crate liners in for them and they're good to go.
For all the travelling we do, and will continue to do, such as going to Ohio next year, etc, it would be a good investment, and they can just fold up and stack in my cellar when not in use.

Wonder if they are plane size?

longtimecouple1
04-02-2009, 08:52 AM
It says it could be used for airline use, but not in cabin use though, most airlines require 10" or under for height under the seat. This is a full 4" higher, so I'd still have to have a smaller one for airline use, but most of our travel is by car, so that's not a big problem.
This will be much better storage wise, in the SUV going to NH, or Ohio next year, or about anywhere else.

I have 1 of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NYLABONE-Dog-Crate-Original-Pet-Carrier-Medium_W0QQitemZ250398485015QQcmdZViewItemQQssPageNameZRSS:B:SRCH:US:102

which is a great crate, however Nylabone stoped making this style and their new fold-away crate is not flat on top so I can't stack them.

I saw the Nylabone crates. The reason I got this crate is partly because of the convenient handle, and also the way it collapses... It is perfect for the car. If you don't need them, stash them. When you need it, pull it out and pop it up. And no, it would be too big to take it on the plane. It is airline compliant, but not under the seat with you. And again, it's half the price of the Nylabone crate.

Janet,
Thanks so much for pointing these out to us, I just ordered 3, they will store so much easier in the SUV for vacation, and it's much easier than having to breakdown and reconnect their regular crates.
It does advertise it as airplane compatible, but you're right, it doesn't specify in cabin. But we only fly about once every 4-5 yrs, all other vacations are by car, so these will be terrific, I can't wait to get them. And when not using them I can actually store them in my spare closet, because I can stack them in the corner.
