Do you have to be from Ohio to go to this? Or can one make it a road trip???

How adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

juliette
04-29-2003, 11:45 AM
It would be 558 km road trip...about the same as driving to Montreal from downtown Toronto.

And when you consider that we have (on occaisions in University) driven to Montreal for lunch and driven back...all things are possible. :D

knockout

I actually looked into it - it would take about 6 hours...
It could be a weekend road trip!!!

The Ramada Inn accepts pets... with a $50 deposit!!!

It's right on Route 43!!!

HOW FUN!!!!

If you want to stay at the ramada - the rooms are booking up... It's the only place I saw that accepts pets... I believe it's RIGHT DOWN the street from the park... The number is 330-678-0101. I just got the standard room for both Fri and Sat.

Hmm, Bob, I think you have created a monster. This almost sounds like it is turning into a DBB roadtrip.

If there is a group interested in doing this we could always add additional "events" around the weekend for meeting up. Yes, I am an event manager and yes, I would volunteer to coordinate it.

Let me know

knockout
04-29-2003, 12:46 PM
Am I the monster or the roadtrip idea??? hehehehe:raz: :raz:

I would be driving up Fri and getting there late evening... Staying Saturday and coming home mid-afternoon Sunday...

I am more than interested in more events and more than willing to HELP:help: (even is it is from 416 miles away! :)

Maybe there's something we can do at that hotel since they accept pets?

:jacks: :jacks: :jacks:

let me know...

They have banquet rooms and a nice outdoor bar and patio area also.

Ah well, although it's not the same maybe they'll have a Dachsie Meetup in Madrid...

The other day I saw two young black and tan minis who really reminded me of Jake and Juney. They were sooooo cute playing together.:)

I went ahead and called. They said just send an email. Subject Line : PICNIC RSVP to the above address
and list who is coming - name and number of people and dachsie's and where you're coming from just for fun.

Thats all you need to do. She said they had over 200 dachshunds last year.

Hi All,

I just got an email from Susan at Northeast Ohio Dachshund and they are posting the Ramada as a dog friendly hotel on the picnic sight. Since there are alot of folks coming in on Friday they may try to set up something fun for Friday evening as well. Looks to be a really fun weekend.

Also there is a prize for the dachshund that traveled the farthest to get there as well.

We will be there on the Friday night - we will leave early day on Friday and make a leasurely drive of it.

See you there!

Poor Jake, not only will he be dealing with a new brother, then he has all his DBB "cousins" to deal with that weekend.

This is going to be entertaining - 5 hours in the car with the furkids....

I made reservations today at the Ramada. Is that where everyone else is staying? It is dog friendly, right? I did not call and ask, I'm just trusting you all. If you have not made your reservations yet, you should. They are booking up! Alfred and Chewy are so excited, they love adventures. So when is everyone getting there? Should we plan for a get together on Friday or Friday night?

Thanks for the info! A local shopkeeper told us about this last fall, but I'd totally forgotten about it until today. Sounds like a good time; I'll have to check with dh about it.

Looks to be a very good time and the more dbb folks the better. I am having a DBB sign made up so it will be easier for us to find each other.
Hope to see you guys there, your husband and my husband could very well get into some trouble. Mark refuses to grow up and I honestly doubt he ever will. He's my big sweety.
I am wondering if they make Hug a Husband halter? Could have him match Missy and Zeke. And get the extra strong flexi leash. I think I may have found an untapped market.:D

If you decide to start making those Hug a Husband halters & flex leashes - I will be your first customer ;)

I am going to try and be on the road at approximately 8 or 9 am. So - I think I should be there no later than 4 PM Fri nite? (fingers and paws crossed)
