Sammy and Macy's Weekend Camping Pictures.

Once again we had the itch to go camping. It was our friend Wolf (the doxies know him as uncle Wolf), hubby, me and the furkids. We went to Fort Ponderosa in Belt, MT. We were the only ones camping there and the doxies loved it! Sammy, as usual, stayed near the fire and Macy has to explore as much as she could get away with. Behind the campground is a part of the river (fairly small) that begins/leads into the Missouri river. The doxies loved to explore the river (never been to one) and walked with us. They are great camp dogs!

OMGosh, WAY precious! There is just something about those sleepy babies of yours, that just tugs at my 'ole' heart strings!

Can you let them off leash in the campground?

Not at this one. We have Macy tied next to us or just have her leash attached to her. Sammy we didnt because he doesn't wander off. He stayed within the camp radius. Either he will go in the tent or next to the fire. He's such a great boy!!!:sillylove: I still can't believe that he wasn't adopted right away. He was in the pet store for almost a yr!:what: Oh, well, others loss!:Sun2:

Looks like a great time!! Its nice to see dachshunds camping! Zach and I are planning to join the Dog Scouts and looking forward to going camping.

Is that Coleman tent a good one? Has it been in the rain? Does it leak?

I don't think its a coleman, but its awesome! It can stand Montana winds (which are NASTY!!!!!!!) Its also can withstand thunderstorms (its been in two or three) with no leaking. Keeps the air well circulated, keeps out bugs and is pretty good for insulation in the colder climates. The only thing we have issues with is the amount of time it takes to put it up. Hubby has issues, but Wolf and I have it figured out. Oh, and its roomy!!

When you join the dog scouts tell me how it is please. If they have it in Montana my two might join it. (I'm more outdoorsy than hubby).

How fun. It is almost ready to camp on this side of the mountains. There are some of the campgrounds open now that the snow has been cleared away. I can't wait until we can go. Our crew loves it. Of course this will be the first time for Beattie and Lacey so that will be interesting.

My favorite picture has to be the one with the hind legs frogged out behind. I love it when they lay like that. I wish we could have gone too. Maybe sometime we can set up a camping trip somewhere between you and us and meet there. That would be fun.

Absoultely! Hubby, wolf and i are finding different camping grounds all around. We should do a group camping in Glacier. How far are you from Ovando? Browns lake is awesome!!!

Its so much fun with them! We went last yr before we got Sammy, it was fun but not the same. Sammy guards our campsite too. He barks if anyone he doesn't know comes near us. He stops barking when we say "its ok". Plus having doxies in the sleeping bag with us keeps us warm.:laughitup:
