We would like to introduce...

Rowan and Bastian, our newest pack members. Their original family is about to increase by a new baby, they had lived in a small apartment with no yard, and their teenaged owners were with them every other week, due to split custody. They had stayed with my friend, Natalie, as her teenagers went back and forth. We spent a couple of hours at the dog park so they could get to know me, Brekke, and Robinton - teenagers and dogs alike, and they came to realize how hard that lifestyle was for the dachsies. Today, they joined our household, and brought a partial sack of their dog food - with which we are already beginning the gradual changeover, and their quilt, freshly washed, as they had been freshly bathed today, and they were sitting on it in Natalie's car. Without further ado, here are Bastian (male, formerly Buster, turquoise collar) and Rowan (female, formerly Lady, patriotic collar). These two names come from Anne McCaffrey's telepath and teleport series about the Raven/Lyon clan.

We went in this morning for the DHLPP shots, and I got a copy of paperwork their former vet faxed over to my vet. Rowan's birthday is 2-27-01, so she is 8, and Bastian's birthday is 5-22-00, so he is 9. Gee whiz, my four-pack only ranges in age from 8 to 9! They will get their rabies in a couple of weeks, and Bastian needs to be neutered soon.
