Hi everyone, is broccoli ok for my Jake? I personally love broccoli, but only the florets. So when I am chopping them up, I toss the stalks to Jake. He loves them. BUt his tummy has been a little upset recentlyand there has been some diarreha.

I know carrots are an all time favorite, green beans and pumpkin are good too, but I read in another post that anything citrus could be bad. Does this include tomatos? my mom's dogs (doc and gretchen) will go down to the garden and eat them off the vine, green even.

What are some other good veggies? My husband is a vegetarian, so we have a lot of veggie scraps in our household, not a lot of meat.

Thanks

Here's a link to some foods that are toxic or just not real good for our pets. I couldn't find anything about broccoli specifically.

I don't agree with all of the information contained here. This information source has always been a little down on raw foods. Many of our members feed raw diets with much sucess and I myself have sucessfully used raw diets in the past.

Looks like an interesting link. I remember one link that did list a letha dosage of onion for a dog. It' wasn't that much I can't remember now but for our little ones I think i was as little as 1/8 or at most 1.3 cup. Another food to watc not listed on that page is salmon (I know not a vegetable). Raw salmon can contain a parasitic work that is harmelss to humans but can caus major damage in a dog. If properly cooked the worm is killed but if undercooked it can use the dog as a hosts. The boys got very upset the one night I realized my salmon was a little undercooked and they they didn't get theri normal little samples.
