Stateside again but still squeezed for time. Our darling Baylea off to the vet's this a.m. to be spayed. Asked the vet if he could do a little "tummy tuck" on her, at the same time. He said cosmetic surgery was not part of the deal. http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif
For a little mini who had 4 litters in less than her 4 years she really hardly shows the aftermath of the pregnancies. It's just that she is a trifle vain and _demanded_ that I ask the vet!http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/rolleyes.gif
My vets prefer to keep them overnight so it will be tomorrow before she is home again. Sad little eyes followed me out the door. They really use the "look" to their advantage, don't they?
Hi and bye to all,
Roxane

Good luck, Augie day at the vet is August 18th. I don't like the idea of him spending the night but, I guess it is for the best.
Doxie rays for your baby!

Hi Baylea! By the time you read this you'll be back from the vets so a big welcome back Shelbie kiss for you. Don't go near your stitches or they'll make you wear a lampshade round your neck and don't forget to flip over in the street and show complete strangers your scars - lots of attention

Hi all:
Baylea says much thanks for _all_ the well wishes http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/love.gif and wants you to know that she returned home, a bit groggy, but none the worse for her stayover or the surgery.
Greta the Stout has her could-be-a-bit-longer-nose tweaked out of shape, since, for the first 2 days, Baylea was lifted and carried almost everywhere.
Greta's short term memory has a glitch because she received the same treatment after she was spayed.
Baylea is taking Dame Shelbie's advice to heart but has a question. She would like to know about the terminology "lamp shade collar"? She found the remark extremely funny.
I told her I guess dachsies in England resent such an odious device named after fashion worn by a revered heroine of the Empire.
Baylea is saving the hundreds of flowers she received. We can use them for the Luau. She hopes that I will get a digital camera for my birthday. Then I can post a picture of her wearing her lei. (She feels she is more photogenic than Greta.) http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/rolleyes.gif Her opinion, not mine.
Gotta scoot,
Roxane

http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/biggrin.gif Tee hee!! Speaking of noses out of joint, that's Dolly alright.(and a cute little nose she has....much shorter than some.) Since Sunny D came here, she is in a total SNIT!! I must admit, though, I just looked over to the futon. All three were asleep and the Dollers and Sunny boy's rumps were touching. PROGRESS!!!!

You mean they don't make you wear them in 'Merica?!? You know, those things that look exactly like a lampshade that stop you getting at your stitches... I didn't have to wear one cos I promised I wouldn't mess with my stitches but I've seen other dogs having to wear them

I remember so well how AWFUL it feels to leave them there, overnight too. But the next day makes up for it. They are SO HAPPY http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/bounce.gif to be home that any discomfort is barely noticeable. Plus they get all that tender care and all that quality sympathy and all those toys and treats. David, I hope you're planning on staying home with Augie the next day? or have someone he likes sit with him anyway.
Dogs are funny. Neither of mine went near the stitches and so did not need the "lampshade". They were delirious about getting home.
