It is amazing what love and a safe place and do for a little dachsie!:D She has "Thank You, Mommy" written all over her face! It is so hard to imagine how pitaful she must have been when you got her. I don't know the whole story, but those pictures speak volumes for what you have done.

Such a good little lady! I remember when you first got her and what a big difference.

the "Rescue of Gert" saga. It warms the heart to hear of and, in a small way, be part of such a wonderful little life. Seeing the first picture again next to a new one really brings the change into focus. Thank you so much for letting us share this with you and Gert. :)

It's so wonderful to see the change. What a sad looking little girl Gert was in April and just look at the spark now. She's ready to tear those squirrels to shreds! Go, Gert.

I just love the look in the eyes of our older furkids who lived elsewhere, and realize they have a new forever home. My Sorcha didn't have it tough like so many others, since she is a retired mama, but I could just tell she was so skittish around me at first because she didn't understand. Now she gets in the huddle for a scratch, a treat, or attention equally with the others - and she's even crunching up harder treats now. Oodles of love just pour from these older furbabies! Julia B.

Thank goodness for loving people like yourself that could help her.

She is true testament to what love can do for one little dog. I love seeing pictures of her and seeing each time how much stronger and healthier she looks. The vibrancy that now replaces the tired frail look she had in April just make my heart so full it could burst with joy. You just keep on getting better Gertie Girl you are loved.:luvlove:
