I'm trying to get Baxter and Bailey used to as much as I can so that they won't be fraidy dogs as they grow up. So far, I've found they don't like vaccuums, and they are terrified of horses. Both do OK with thunderstorms. I'd be interested in hearing what big, bad monsters your little ones are frightened by.

My Gidget has no fear. Which, unfortunately, includes automobiles and much bigger dogs. She will gladly take on the vaccuum clear, leaf blower, carpet shampooer, broom, rake or anything else she sees as a treat.

Buddy Lee on the other hand is a total wuss. He runs from any and all loud noises. He's leary of other dogs, but welcomes strangers.

Kids that scream alot! It just seems weird because I am a big mouth and can be very loud. But... those high pitch screams just don't like them.
We stopped at a wayside and there were cows in the field. Of course I had to say come bosie. He He! Con thought they were coming for him. OOP's!
After having a Sheltie afraid of his own shadow these guys are a pretty tough pack. By themselfs not as brave.

Buddy, my big german shep/golden mix is afraid of traffic cones, children, balloons, gunshots, and my backyard. He also fears motorcycles and loud cars, and my boyfriend's dalmation Lucy, who has taken a dislike to him.
Dolly might be afraid of the little tortise shell alley cat that kicked Buddy and her butt last night on our walk. That little sucker wasn't backing down and they just wanted to be friends and the little ball of fur wasn't havin it! Poor Dolly and Buddy! She also fears Lucy, the Dalmation who took a dislike to her as well.
Otto is afraid of my stairs at my house. Not carpeted and he slid down them and got stuck once or twice.
Gert seems to be fearless right now. She's getting braver and braver every day.

Baxter refuses to go down the steps in my house. They are carpeted and go from upstairs to downstairs. He runs up them fine, but won't come down them for anything, including food! Bailey, on the other hand, barks once, and then charges right on down. Baxter will go down other steps, so don't know what his issue is.

Bailey also growls at my best friend's youngest child, who has ADHD. I think he (Bailey) may sense the restlessness in Bryan. Poor kid can't get anywhere near Bailey, but any other human in the world can. Neither is keen on other dogs yet. We'll see what else.

As for the horses, Bailey barked at them like he was going to scare them away..........

Tess -- Frontline application once a month (she knows when it is due and will not come out from under the bed for anything); new people and aggressive dogs

Kibby -- loud things: lawn and floor and carpet dragons, thunder

Stinker -- fast moving dogs that knock her over since she can't see or walk well

Lucy -- Nothing! Bring them on -- the fearless wirehair will take on the biggest and the loudest

Foster boys: Bucky and Ziggy -- alpha dogs

Rena and the Waco pack

Duffy, my wire hair, had only one fear. Smoke. She would almost go into shock over it. She even feared the oven. Luckily, I am not much of a cook and didn't mind having an excuse not to use the oven!

So far Willow, whos parents are wire hairs, has no fear that I can find. She tends to approach things with caution, which is a plus. When she was small and meeting things for the first time (like floor fans) she would feel a bit of fear and then force herself to face the scarey until it was not scarey any more. It was so cute to watch my brave little girl. :D

PS Her favorite thing in the world is a chain saw!

Just found out today that Lunchbox is absolutely terrified of our friend's little 3 year old girl. She just wants to pet him and play with him and he runs to mommy so fast to hide his face - it's hilarious!

Frankie is petrified of a handyman I've used over the years........Even if I had just taken her out, she will poop when he comes in the house. I don't know what it is about him she doesn't like. I have to leash her when he's here, and she will pull back on the leash to get away from him. They say dogs can detect things in people that we can't, so maybe she knows something I don't?

Let's see Dexter is easy, geting wet, and right now his brother Frank. He is also terrified of nail clipping.

Tanner, being left. He is my seperation anxiety boy. He has to follow me from room to room.

Frank, let's see if Frnk has a fear it's that he isn't getting his shart of attention. I was jsut finishing up Aggie below when I remembered Frank's biggest fears are nail trimming and feather clipping.

MY little angle girl Aggie the question would have been what wasn't she afraid of when I first got her. The whole work was a scary place she feared all people, other dogs, the grass and that is just a starting place. White time I got her over the majority of her fears and as long as she was with her dad she could tollerat almost any thing.

The vaccum....he just barks at the big bad monster. On the 4th he wasn't really happy about the fireworks. :afraid: We had to put him in the kennel in a quiet place where he couldn't hear them, :blue: but thunderstorms don't seem to bother him.
