I have a lot of meatballs made up and in the freezer ( as in 3 one gallon freezer bags full :D). Hey, if you're making up meatballs, why make just a few, right?

Have a pot luck to go to tomorrow night. Just wondering if anyone has any recipes using meatballs that you'd like to share.

What was I thinking???? There are only 2 of us - won't use up that many meatballs in forever!:faint:

We make meatballs into meatball subs - simmer them in some tomato sauce of choice, put on a toasted sub/hoagie bun, top with cheese.

I love meatball subs, I do the same thing.

When you froze the meatballs, are they with or without sauce?
I would boil some pasta with some chopped veggies in the same pot, add meatballs and favorite sauce. Top with cheese.
Who doesn't love meatballs and pasta at a pot luck?? Yum!!

mmmmmmeatballs!! Ok Marianne, let me give you my mailing address, and don't forget to pack them in plenty of dry ice :D

My mom always made a rich brown gravy with the pan juices after browning/frying her meatballs...serve over mashed potatoes...sighhhh....

Got this one from the cook where I work.
1 large size can Cream of Mushroom soup
5 T barbeque sauce
5 T grape jelly
1/2 can water
Mix together and bring to a boil. Add large bag of frozen meatballs and reduce heat to a simmer. Simmer until meatballs are heated through- 20 to 30 minutes. Serve with toothpicks as an apetizer/snack or we like to make meatball sandwiches. Makes a nice brown gravy and not too sweet. Our 3 year old granddaughter loves them; never saw her eat so much meat before! LOL!

They are without sauce. This sounds yummy and so do the things that others suggested. OK, I'm getting hungry now!

Do you think a garlic, mushroom alfredo sauce would be good?

Thanks for all of the suggestions, everyone. :wahooo: may use up some of those meatballs yet!

I've made slow cooker meatballs in a tomato sauce. I always put a cup aside to throw into a tomato vegetable soup. Not good for a pot luck, but yummy.
Love the garlic, mushroom alfredo sauce idea.

I was gonna suggest making a bbq sauce for them. Also an easy swedish meatball sauce, which is really nothing more than a can of mushroom soup, sour cream, thin it down with a little beef broth and season with a little allspice (to taste).Simmer just enuf to heat the meatballs thru and serve as an appetizer on a toothpick or over cooked egg noodles.Yummo! An easy stroganoff with brown gravy mix, sauteed mushrooms and sour cream at the end over noodles, too is great! An italian wedding soup with chicken broth, spinach and tiny pasta.I wish t wasn't summer!

I used the recipe that BeauBuddy (Penny) suggested - yummy, yummy and a big hit! I also cooked up 15 ears of corn, wrapped each individually in foil, put them into my 9 x 13 and into an insulated carrier. They stayed nice and hot! Easy to do and people loved the idea.

It was our annual obedience club picnic for hoomans and doggies. Bad mommy......... forgot my camera. Hopefully, someone will send me some pics. It was a gorgeous evening to be on the lake. A lot of the dogs went swimming. T & T stuck their front paws into the water - enough for them.:Sun2:

Can't wait to try some of the other recipes that people suggested. Thanks again!

I wonder how many people made meatballs because of your thread!! :D
Glad it was a hit. Corn is a nice pairing with that.
Hope there's a few pics headed your way.
