My sweet boy Petey fought so hard, but his poor body was just so tired. He went to join his sister Heidi at the Rainbow Bridge this morning. My heart is broken into a million pieces. The hardest thing is that I wasn't able to be there to whisper in his ear just how much I loved him as I am still at my mom's while she is in hospital. I told the vet to please give him a kiss for me and I have to believe that he knew my spirit was with him. Please light a candle to honour my Petey's life today. I loved you my big man and you will never be forgotten. RIP my sweet boy.

My heart just shattered. I am so terribly sorry for your loss Pam. We have been praying so hard for Petey here at home, I even had my kids add him to their prayers. I am sending prayers of comfort to you and all the support energy I can.

Petey knew you loved him and I bet he is up at the bridge looking down on you now hoping you don't greive too terribly bad for him because as you said he is with his sister Heidi now and they are happy, healthy and waiting for the time you will all be together again.

Oh Pam...my tears are falling as I type this. My heart aches for you. So many of us here know this pain and how seemingly impossible it is to have to say goodbye. So my heart aches for you because I know the pain you are in. :hugs2:

As for Petey, I feel a sense of peace. I know he fought hard and I know he was a very brave little guy. I think heaven must have needed a new doxie angel this Christmas. It is peaceful for me to think of Heidi and Petey together and I hope that they will find my Jasper and be his friend too in heaven. I know they would like each other.

Petey knows you loved him dearly and he'll always be with you. We carry the doxies we've lost in our hearts forever. They remain in our hearts and will always have our love, whether here on earth or in heaven...we love them forever. And please know that Petey feels the same way about you...you'll always be his mama. He will watch out for you and your mom from heaven.

Pam, I am so sorry...I am sharing tears with you. Maybe for some unknown reason it was best you weren't there...you know in you heart that he knew how much you loved him...maybe he knew it would be even more painful for you to be with him and that is why he waited until you weren't there. You had no choice but to go be with your mom. I will keep you in my prayers as I know in my heart that dear Petey is hanging out on cloud 9 right now with my Champ....Champ will show him around and both will be there patiently waiting to see us one day. Petey was a special boy and I'm crying typing this. I held my Molly while she passed and it was the hardest thing I have done in my life.
