Hernia update

I took Hannah to the vet today. He said that the "hernia" that had reoccured may not be a hernia after all.(he couldn't push it back in) He put a needle in and examined a sample under the microscope.
He thinks that Hannah may have had trauma to her abdomen and it is just inflamation that has formed. It may just be a coincidence that it formed at the same location that had a hernia in April. If it has not disappeared in two weeks then he will take more aggressive action.

A dog can also develop a little allergy to artificial catgut. If that's what was used under the skin, it just may well be just some inflammation as he said. Licking will also irritiate the area. If it's a reaction to the stitches, it should go down rather slowly, just gradually disappearing.

This is a very common thing to happen when a female is spayed.
