Remembering Jasper

Tomorrow, July 16th, it will be 3 years since I lost Jasper. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of him. I miss him so very, very much and I hope and pray that when it's my time to go, I will see him again. I wanted to share this poem for Jasper and a picture of him. (I tried to resize my picture smaller, but it keeps showing up big.)

...For Jasper...
They say memories are golden
well maybe that is true
I never wanted memories,
I only wanted you.

A million times I needed you,
a million times I cried.
If love alone could have saved you
you never would have died.

In life I loved you dearly,
In death I love you still.
In my heart you hold a place
no one could ever fill.

If tears could build a stairway
and heartache make a lane,
I'd walk the path to heaven
and bring you back again.

Our family chain is broken,
and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
the chain will link again.

Jasper sure was quite the handsome boy. The time we have with them is never long enough. Hugs to you. :hug2: Remember the good times today. All the things you loved to do together. Hopefully that will help to ease your heartache a little bit. For I am sure your heart still aches for him, as mine does for my little ones that have gone on. The poem is lovely. :hearts:

Its hard losing our furbabies isnt it. Our Billi will be gone 1 yr. next month and our Cocoa soon will be gone 4. Such a pretty poem, I have seen one of the verses before but never saw the entire poem. Thanks for posting, Jasper was certainly one handsome boy.
