Timber will be neutered on Wednesday, December 6. Too bad I'll be @ school! That same day I have to perform at the Woodfield Mall in band. I don't know if I can concentrate while Timber's on the operating table! I won't even be able to say goodbye to him when he gets to the vet b/c he has to get to the vet between 8-8:30 AM-when I'm at school! I won't be able to pick him up until 5:00 PM! I'll buy Timber a new bed and a can of Eukanuba small breed puppy food b/c the hard kibble might be hard to eat. Wish him luck!

I'm sure everything will be fine, though I worried with Rudy too. Roscoe's appointment is Dec. 11 and I will do the same thing I did with Rudy -CALL the VET!
Our vet lets you call or has a vet tech call you after the surgery to give an update. Could you perhaps call from a payphone at school during your lunch period? I bet it would make you feel a little better.
Rudy was just a little groggy when we picked him up, and he wanted to be babied for about 24 hours, but after that ZOOM -he was his normal self trying to catch the squirrels in the yard.

Hi Tiff, don't worry, Timber will be fine. When I dropped both my guys off, I cried, so your feeling of anxiety is normal (not to mention I am probably two or three times your age )
Try to give a call from school as someone suggested, that will definitely help you get through your performance.
Best wishes!

Hi Tiff, I know this is difficult. I had a tough time bringing Otis for his appointment in October. He breezed through with flying colors and was so happy to see me when I picked him up that he piddled all over the floor! He seemed a little sore only for about one day. I had lots of treats and toys to spoil him with. It is good that you'll be busy when he's at the vet. It would be nice (for you) if you can call. Perhaps you'll have extra time with him when you pick him up?
Sending our best,
Otis and his mommy, A.

I am a bigger baby about Augie than I'd care to admit. Roll back the posts to this summer and see what I mean.
I was worried sick about him. When he got back home.............. in 24 hours we did our usual 3 mile hike. He won't miss 'em. He'll be fine. If you are like me, you will be in worse shape from worry

Tiff, Timber will be fine. And much faster than you would ever imagine. David's right--he won't even miss 'em. I was amazed when I had my first boy neutered--I figured he'd be morose and hurting and walking carefully and stiffly....Nah! He was up and back to his old self the very next day.
As David said, you will suffer more than Timber! Good luck with your performance! What do you play?

I play the flute. My band performance is during the time I would normally eat lunch, so I would only be able to call after I got into my band uniform. Thanks everyone for all the support!

I'd still call the vet that day to check up on the boy. It will make you feel better, timber will fine, he'll just want mommy for a while. Then.... Hey! I'm hungry! Where's my treats! Then it will be playtime.
Aug had two stitches, nylon kind, after a while they started to poke him and I got nail clippers to trim them down. Don't worry about the knots at the skin, they are tight, I just clipped them down and left a little for the vet to get a hold of.
I played concert base trombone in high school, jazz and did marching too. I did not have a pupper to worry about then. My first doxie passed when I was 15. Sure would have been nice to have a "bud" to confer with during high school time.
Keep us posted about Timber, he'll be fine!

Timber's great! We are getting a lot of snow and he really wants to play, but we have to keep his sugery spot clean and dry. The concert went fine, too. The vet called my mom at 12:30 to say how Timber was doing.
