Visiting my folks - and their Dachsies!

Jake is a pretty good boy (for a weiner) and doesn't really mind other dogs, esp. since he lived in a rescue house with about 75 other dogs, but we are going down to my mom and dad's house for labor day, and those 2 dachsies are highly protective, aggressive, and generally rotten to the core. It would be nice to relax for a few days, but I am worried that they might try to eat my little three-legged wonder weiner. Does anyone have any tips on how to deal with this situation?

If Jake is used to other dogs he wont be the problem. I would bring the other 2 outside their turf to a location where they can meet without the protect their home issue. Then I would see how they do. If you dont trust them with Jake I would get a couple of baby gates to take with so Jake can be loose in one area and gated away from the terrible duo. It will also give them time to smell each other in the house without being able to jump him. The gates aren't expensive and rather handy from time to time.

On the subject of gates... I find it VERy useful. I put my in front of the screen door to keep Rem from jumping on it.
