You know those cute snuggle bears, (the one that does the fabric softener and laughs way too much)
Well.............
Aug loved him. After "bouncing" the stuffed bear off the walls and shaking the daylights out of it, he started chewing away at its face. He has other stuffed animals so we thought it was no big deal to let him beat up on this one that seemed to be kid proof. We thought that until we heard a crunch. The plastic nose is gone. We tackled Aug and stuffed our fingers in his mouth... too late, down the hatch. It's about the size of a dime, he should pass it, just wanted to know if this ever happend to anyone else.

OMG you scared me! Otis bit Kevin's nose once, so I just wasn't sure what you meant. Otis has swallowed EVERYTHING and he's smaller than Augie. This too, shall pass, the little stinker.

Been there done that... Tader ate the plastic eye off one of his toys ... needless to say it gave me a scare but he passed it and i just stopped giving them plush toys. Sassie ate a ton of stuffing out of her bone toy once... she is fine too. Im sure Aug. will be ok http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif They do the craziest things...lol

There aren't too many things that my little Twixers hasn't eaten!! She knows the game too. If she is chewing on something she shouldn't and she sees me coming it is swallowed no matter how big it is! She has given me a few frights of my own but everything has been okay so far... You just never know with these little ones.

Hmmmm, any dachsie who can eat and swallow a tampon and have it come out alright in the END...my first doxie, Dixie, a button nose should prove to be no problem. Just wouldn't want it to be a steady diet.

I was watching Emergency Vets last night and they were saying some of the things some dogs have swallowed. The thing that got me was one dog ate a whole size D bra. All I got to say was must of been a BIG dog!

How is Augie Dog doing? I hope the whole button nose episode is behind him now!
It is really reassuring to read all these stories of pups that ate awful things and came through it fine. Without them I'd probably live in constant fear! On the other hand, my Penny has a nice little scar from the emergency surgery she had last April after swallowing a scrap of fabric and string while playing with a stuffed toy! http://dachsie.org/ubb/smilies/smile.gif

Tell Aug that Lili's Mama understands his plight. Several years ago she swallowed a (tooth) crown and it came out okay too. Just had to be put through the sterilizer but was better than $400 for another one.

Thanks for all of the support. Nice to know that if he does eat anything it will come out one end or the other.
