Poll: How Much Does Your Dachsie Weigh ?

Well, I just had my 12 week Old Mini Charlie into the Vet's office today and he was weighed........

4lbs, 8oz ~ He's growing just fine! He was only 1lb, 4oz when we got him at 6 weeks old.

I'm always curious about the different weights between Mini's & the Standard. Let us know!

Magic is a tweeni. She is 13 pounds.

Misty is a mini. She is 10.3 pounds

Mirri at a little over 8 weeks is 3.1 pounds. Looks like she will be a tweeni at 11 to 13 pounds full growth.

Bogart is an overweight mini at 16 lbs! Today I took him to the vet and he has gained back the pound that he lost. Miller and Cash are tweenies at 15 lbs each. Amanda is a mix and weighs 20 lbs which is a good weight for her. Her momma was a standard.

Willy seems to be hanging around 16lbs. A bit overweight, but he is still as active & fiesty as ever. We try to get the weight down, but not having much luck. Would like to see him around the 11lbs mark...for his health.

Kamper my large standard weighs about 31 he is on a slight diet and looks great.
Maggie is a small standard and weighs 21
Natasha a small standard weighs 21
and Cassie is a standard and weighs 23 pounds

both of my dogs are officially at "perfect" weight (according to their vet! Of course, 1-2 hour daily runs through the woods have a lot to do with that (thank god for the dog sitters!)

Otto is a tweenie at 14.6 pounds and Hijinx is a true mini at 7.2 lbs.

Frankie is a tweenie at 12 lbs. She isn't overweight; she is solid! My first doxie was 6 lbs. She was a peanut........

I just mentioned to my roomate that Chewy is to thin. It is hard to regulate their food because we give a lot of treats too.
But I am having her up his portions. When I run them we give them a cheaper dog food that is soft as a treat. But good quality food otherwise.
Last night I was cuddling with him and when he strecthed out he was way to thin. But in a couple of days will be back to normal.
Ivy = 22 a little pudgie
Chewy = 24 a little thin
Con = 21 just right
Just like the 3 little pigs! Oh I forgot that is to hot to cold just right
Not to fat to thin just right.
We won't even mention my weight. Good thing my doctor doesn't get crazy at me about it. Or I would be crying all day today after seeing him. :sarcastic

On the vet's scale a few weeks ago Willow weighed in at 9.5 lbs. She is 19 months old. And fit as a fiddle! :)

Gert is up to 18 lbs now (eating beneful lite now, half a cup)
Otto is roughly 20 lbs, we haven't stepped on the scale lately and are refusing to be identified by our weight.
Dolly is 35 to 40 lbs.
Buddy who isn't a doxie, is 85 lbs.
Izzy, (the name he comes with) who isn't at my house yet and sitting, languishing at the pound weighs 13 lbs.

Max is 26 pounds. Everytime we go to the vet the vet says he's the biggest Dachshund he has ever seen!! His Dad (Shaker) was 22 pounds and at the time, we thought that was huge! I know there are bigger ones, but I've never seen one either.

Amy is usually 17-18 pounds.

Buddy Lee (8 mos) is just over 8 lbs.
Gidget (15 mos) is a little pudgey at 12.5 lbs, but is losing some.
Mack (11.5 mos) is my big boy at 14.5 lbs.
And, his sister, Molly, is petite at 11.5lbs, but gaining nicely.

Their birth mom is 10 lb and dad is 7.5 lb.

Our Tristan was a tweenie at 13 lb.

sam is a large standard.....about 28 lbs.......he solid..but has a fat tummy...iv tried to give him less...omg he whines...barks...nips at my toes...nudges......i feel like im staving a child! one vet told me he was overweight.........the one that "nipped" him said he was right on with being lg standard....and looked like his parents!

Taffy weighs 10 pounds. Since she is a mini, and is now sixteen months old, I think she is pretty much full grown.

Daisy is ten months old, and close to 13 pounds. She is a standard, I guess. Her previous owners said she was a mini, but I don't think so. She is going to be a small standard, maybe? She was 8 months when I got her, and hasn't really put on any weight since then. So maybe she is a tweenie?

And I weigh....well, let's not go there.

Dexter was just at the vet, he is just over 11 pounds. not an ounce of fat on him. He is two.

Just weighed in today. Oscar is 11.5# & little Buck is 11#. They are both looking good - showing a waist line with no ribs showing. :)

Oscar will be 2 yrs old in Feb & little Buck was just 1 yr old in July. I think they are done growing - so their weight will probably stay that way.

It doesn't seem to fluctuate anymore - so I guess their food amount is right for them. They might lose a bit when the weather is cooler & they have longer walks.

Sailor boy at 13 weeks is 6.2 lbs. He gained a whole lb in 2 weeks! The vet says he doing great. :cheer:

Mimis is around 14 pounds, the vet said she could gain a pound after I adopted her from the shelter. I guess that means she is a tweenie ? She seems huge though !!!!

Millie is 13 lbs and is on a diet, Bubby is 9 lbs and looks great, Buffie used to be the thinest but since she is on crate rest most of the time she has gotten a little hefty, when she gets out of the crate to use the potty, she scarfs down the other 2's foods like a vacuum...

Jesse is going to qualify as a mini! I read the standard and all it says is that they have to weigh 11lbs or under at one year of age. Nothing about what happens after a year. So Jesse is a mini, weighing in at 10.3lbs.

Skyler is a true tweenie. He weighed around 12lbs at a year old. Currently he's an obese tweenie weighing in around 15lbs.

Otis (who was supposed to be mini) is weighing about 19lbs @ almost 3 years old. So I am thinking NOT SO MINI after all!! His parents were both larger minis so he apparently took on the large characteristics.

Rufus is approx. 19 weeks and just weighed 9 lbs at the vets on Friday...I think he will end up a little bigger than Otis once fully grown since his parents are standard wire hairs.
