Use a flexible measuring tape-- like the kind used for sewing, and measure your dachsie. How does your furbaby measure up? Multiple answers are allowed.

My Gidget is 30.5".
Buddy Lee is 29.5"
Molly is 31.5"
And Mack is the longest at 35.5"

All measuements should be from the tip of their nose to the tip of their tail.

I've never thought to measure them. I'd say mine are mediums in the length category though. I doubt I'd get them to hold still long enough to measure them. Have to sneak up on them while they're sleepin.

from neck to tail, he's 17 1/2 inches long...I know this because I measured him for a coat set for his birthday back in April  ..I don't think he'd be over 25 inches if you add his head & tail, tho..I don't think he'd take too kindly to me trying to do so tonite, tho...since he is already burrowed under his covers :asleep: & I don't have the heart to disturb him

Ok, I couldn't stand not knowing for sure...so I measured from top of head to neck & then his tail...adding those to his 17.5 body & I come up with a total of 32 inches....my baby is ALOT longer than I thought he was!! (so my vote was wrong...sorry about that!) and I was right, he wasn't thrilled with being woke up & bothered with my silly tape measure...poor baby! I made it quick, tho...and he's back under the covers once again :asleep:

Well, I had to go home and measure Maximus last night to answer this poll. Max is my first dachshund and I have always thought he was very very very long!

But my husband who has had lots of dachshunds says he is just normal.

Max is 2 1/2 years old, 13.5 lbs and 26" long. That is long in my book!:snoopy:

Well López kept ducking his head and sitting down but I think he's just under 35. We've always thought he was a little on the short side (he's a standard).

Three of my furbabies are little tiny things, all of them weighr under 6 pounds. I will have to measure them tonight. I do know that GOOSEMan has won the smallet dog at various contests.

Dexter 32"
Tanner 35"
Frank 39" to the tip of his tail but 43" if you measure to the end of the hair on his tail. Yess that's right he hair at the tip of his tail is 4" long.

OK how are you measuring your doxie? Nose to base of tail or base of neck to base of tail.

My doxies run from under 25" nose to base of tail to Princess Fiona a gentle giant measuring in at 36"

Mia is 32" long. I like this poll. Doxie slaves love to compare our masters, don't we?

I think mine are of normal lenghth. I m not going to measure all 8 of them, they wouldnt stand still. They are just getting good at the sitting technique.
