does anyone know if these chew toys are safe for dogs to injest/eat. not to replace food or anything, but if they swallow pieces of it, is that ok? my dogs are aggressive chewers and rawhide doesn't do well for their tummys. so, i was wondering about these. they are the booda chew bones made of a corn starch mix. here is a link so you can see them. http://www.petco.com/product_info.asp?sku=2350355020&dept_id=%2D2
thank you so much!!!!

They are made of corn starch and are perfectly safe - my vet recommends them over other chews. They are not as hard on the teeth as some other hard chew are. My kids are crazy about them and they do not bother their stomachs at all. Just be sure to monitor their use as with all chew items, so noone gets choked on one.

Might have been something else... but Jake's tummy didn't agree with these. He had it out both ends for 12 hours after getting one...

That doesn't mean your dog won't love them... and be able to chomp on 'em!

You have any updated pics of Dex and Dee Dee? :D

Just as long as it isn't the only thing they eat that day, you should be fine. Otto ate a big bimple once and his poop was softserve. Ewww He loved them though.

tried those with my crew.
You will have to let us know how they do with them. It might do for me to get some.
Kamper is my aggresive chewer.
I still havent found a toy that he cannot destroy.
I hate that too cause I am sure the others would like to have toys.:(

thank you all so much for your comments. we had some major problems with our little guy dexter a year or so ago b/c he ate so much rawhide it really messed up his tummy. he seems to be ok with these chews. dee dee too. but dee dee has a "stomach of steel." she eats everything. in fact, i noticed white things in dee dee's poo the other day and i thought it was a tapeworm. i took the stool to the vet and they said it was the chews. they said it looked like she was digesting them well. so that was good. the vet did say the stool would be a little softer when eating a chew. dexter has not puked or had slime poo lately so that is good. it has been so long since i have been on this board, i need to give you all an updated picture. how do i post one again?
thanks! dana

First thing is to upload your pictures to one of the free photo album sites like webshots.com or photoisland.com . . . (I think those are the site names that come to mind) . . . there are many of them. It may NOT be a passworded site. Anyone MUST be able to surf to the pics.

Then (assuming everyone knows the terms LeftClick and RightClick) go to the album containing the photo to post, RightClick the photo and select View Image from the resulting little menu that pops up . . . the result will be a web page with the URL you need . . . place the entire URL between the tags & in the post and the picture will appear in the post.

Cute kids! My girls all like the Bimples. Lucy tends to overdo it and may get the runs from time to time. I see that she has demolished a quarter of a Bimple in the last 3 hours today. They seem to be a safe alternative to other chews.

Your doxies are so cute! How did you get them to sit at the same time? Mine will only sit when she feels like it, and then not for very long. She likes to go! She loves those booda velvet chews! I think her favorite is cheeseburger. They take a little longer to chew than the rawhide. I haven't had a problem with her digesting them at all. I guess it varies from dog to dog. I also found out she likes the Dentabone for small dogs, I gave her one the other night and she had eaten half of it in about 5-10 minutes. They also give her minty breath!

thanks! i am not sure if they were sitting or just looking at the camera. it is so hard to get them to pose :-) my dogs like cheeseburger flavor too! i actually bought the dentabones the other day. i will give them a try too.

our dog loves Boodas! Just be careful if they are really aggressive chewers. Harley actually cracked her back tooth and it got infected and she had to have the tooth removed. It didn't slw her down , because she still eats them! The cheapest place I've found them is a walmart. Sometimes the sleection of flavors isn't that good, but as long as chicken is there we are set!

(Cute pics by the way!)

No more big greenie chews in my house, and I won't try booda, due to what happened to some of your dogs. If it happened to them, it will happen to Trenyce. Ruben is my guy with the belly of steel.:caffeine:
Mine have yet to touch a chicken nylabone either. They even drop it when I put when in their mouth.
So far, they are most happy when I give them the little curly pieces of pigs ear, and after a day or two I can't find any sign of them in the pen, so I know they chew them completely (when they aren't trying to bury them in the dog litter).

Anyone find the low fat curly little pieces? I can only find low fat in the whole pigs ears, and I don't want to give those.

does Trenyce have a weak belly? or is he just an aggressive chewer. also, what brand do the pig curley pieces come in? thanks, dana

Trenyce was just fine, until she ate 2/3 of a petite Greenie. Oops. Doggie Mommy didn't read quite enough.:(
Then she had the most watery poop for about 12 hours, and refused to use the litter box. Poor both of us, YUK!:uh-oh:

Funny thing is they both eat rotten tomates, compost, apples that fall off my tree, and generally any smelly thing in the yard, but a "healthy" Greenie bothered her tummy, and he ate as much as she did!

I bought the first bag of pigs ears at PetCo, and the second bag at Walmart, no clue as to the brand, but in both stores it was the only bag of them.

I just learned that I am underfeeding them, so I guess a few fatty pigs ears aren't going to be a problem. (It makes me feel less guilty for giving them little dog biscuits when they mind me or potty in the box:greensq: .)
