Does your doxie get bottled water or tap water?

I give Frankie bottled water ONLY. Due to  Tiffany's bladder condition, I started giving her the bottled water and carried it over to Frankie. The holistic vet said Tiffany's problem was related to minerals or something in tap water that she shouldn't have. Nothing's too good for my doxie:circle: :bounce:

Mostly mine get tap water, but sometimes I put bottled water in their bowl. Their favorite water is out of the duck pond or the tin pan in the corner of the yard that gets are slimy if I'm not watching it.

They don't care what it is called or were it comes from. But if they can drink out of the cup in the van they think that is the best. Oh of course the yuky stuff they find on walks is always hard to keep them away from.
Actually I had gotten a special bottled water with electrolytes in it for going on some of our longer day outtings. But I don't know if it was any better. It was the same as Gatoraid.
I drink tap so thats what they get mostly too. OK I am addictd to Diet Coke. They don't like it though. :raz:

Ah, another Diet Coke addict! My dogs don't like it either.

Charlie gets bottled water but only because we have a cooler in the kitchen and have the water delivered every other week. Otherwise, he'd get plain old tap water.

My dogs aren't keen on Diet Coke either...but have been known to drink beer if you leave a bottle unattended!

They drink bottled water - but like every one else's pups, will drink river water, Lake Ontario water or whatever else! When we walk with them, they have their own personal Brita filter!

We have so much iron in our water, that we have a softener (yukky tasting) so we have a Pur pitcher in the fridge and a Pur filter on the sink. Of course they are dogs so they drink the well water from the sprinklers too. :raz:

when it comes to water. Chief gets tap water although I've been thinking about getting a brita filter for quite some time.

They don't care where the water comes from but like it cold. I keep the water in front of the air vents and it makes pups happy. Also, Buddy the big dog, likes to drink it out of small containers, like the ones on a travel kennel.
Otto likes to "drink" slurpees. He'll be sitting on my lap in the front seat driving with my boyfriend and getting his tongue all the way into the cup through that little hole in the top.
Angus Mc Dingus the cat with nose trouble (getting it in everything) likes to drink my Crystal Lite teas. I think Otto likes those too.

We're lucky because in Madrid the tap water is very soft and tastes OK, so we all drink it.

I used to give my dogs tap water until a few years ago when a lady told me that her poodle was very sick and almost died because the tap water was not safe enough in this area.

Tap water, but I usually filter it. At times Waco water smells and tastes like something died in it. If I won't drink it ...

Wow, I'm surprised....the tap water drinkers out weigh the bottled water....interesting.........

We have a water softener installed, as well as a bottled water dispenser. I gave Tristan the bottled water, but am giving the girls the tap water because the bottled water is VERY cold and I had read that very cold water may be hard for puppies' stomachs at first. May convert later.
I also prefer Diet Coke... and they like to lick the condensation off the outside of the can:raz: :raz:

...preferably WHILE I am drinking from it.

We recently got a new fridge with the water and ice in the door. Max gets only filtered water and ice. He has always loved ice cubes and he likes his water cold.

He also likes to get drinks from Mom's water glass. That is his favorite!

Cincinnati water is pretty good water. From what I understand we have one of the best filtration systems in the country. My pups get tap water cause I drink it too. If we go on an outing or out of town its bottled water.

Filtered water in our house, for us, the cats and the Weenies. Ofcourse if it were up to them, Rooby & Lexie prefer pond water or nasty slimy mud puddle water.

pond, slimy water or puddles. This can be a harboring for West Nile Virus. I always keep Chief away from any type of puddle, because you never know, it could be tainted with anti-freeze which is hghly toxic or something similiar.

What I meant was, IF they had their way they'd drink out of puddles, etc. I never let them though... besides the ick factor, it could be lethal. Thanks for the warning tho! :D

WE have prety good water here. A good city filtration system teh current ongoing debate about stoppin g the flourination of the water. No up stream users of our water. Of course much of it comes from the west slop. A combination of resivors, ditches, tunnelas and aqua ducts gets it ot us. Now our municipal resivor (the last stop before the treatment plant) does allow moterized water craft and there is a large wild life populatin around it including deer and geese so yes I would not consider drining out of the resivor directly.

On interesting little note if you ever find yourself is an emergency situation where you must dring our of a stream w/o treating or boiling the water first still water can be safer to drink than fast moving water. The cyst that cause geridia(SP) are heavy enough that they will sink to the bottom in still water but keep getting churned back up to the top in fast moving water.

We all drink the tap water here. The boys will drink out of a lake if desperate. When we go out we carry our water with us. Josh goes to Wilmington, NC for his training class and will not drink the water there so I better not forget his water bottle. They also like to drink the condensation off the outside of my Diet pepsi bottle while I am trying to drink it!

I have a um... "thing" with drinking ONLY filtered water. My bf calls it being picky, I call it a way of life :D
Cocoa and ALL my and my family's animals get filtered water. I got my roommate to start using filtered water for her hamster and she noticed the hamster started drinking a lot more water and noticed the hamster seemed happier. :dunno:

I use the Brita water filter system for us and the puppers.

Before that - it was bottled water since they were babies.

But it's still bottled water when we travel.

Actually, both - we have a 750-foot well with Artesian water, and I think it tastes awful because I'm so used to city water - it's VERY soft. So generally, I give my crew of two tap water, but we do have bottled water, also, and at times I'll give them some cooler bottled water from the fridge.

Tap water filtered. We do have pretty good water in Seattle but I never give them tap unless it's been filtered.

I voted tap water, but sometimes I give bottled water. However my tap water has one of those PUR filter things attached, so it's filtered tap water.

Tap water....especially since I watched a show on bottled water and it is basically tap water. If you read the label....that Artesian spring is really just a pretty picture....it comes from a tank/tap like we drink at home according to the newscast.

I saw that show too.

We have a 1200 foot well with wonderful water and my dogs love it. We only recently switched to our own well rather than sharing one with some family members and ours is much deeper and actually has much better tasting water. Even the dogs prefer the water from the new well over the water from the shared well.

There is a place on the way to Glacier Park that has fresh spring water and many people who live in town go there and get water because the city water tastes :sick012:terrible and my dogs like that alot too. We usually go to Glacier two or three times a year since it is only about 40 miles from my house and we always make it a point to stop there and water the dogs.

Nothing but PUR filtered water for our crew. We don't drink our tap water and we don't expect our furbabies to either.

I look at it this way- If I am drinking it, then they can drink it too (water that is)!

We only drink tap water. We don't have a water softner. Dixie actually loves the water that is in our backyard water garden/pond. It isn't big...just a little one that is about 3ft x 2ft in a kidney bean shape. I don't know why...but she thinks it is her own personal drinking bowl.

Prior to Hurricane Rita, they drank filtered tap water. Then when Rita hit, started drinking bottled water. Now they are sooo spoiled that if you give them tap water, they will tip the bowl and splash it all over or if non tip bowl, shove it under something to hide it.

We have well water and it is some of the best tasting water around. It is tested often as we are a Grade A dairy and the water has to be pass inspection on a regular basis.

I had to laugh at the beer drinker.

Reuben ADORES White Russians (vodka, kahlua and milk). If we have one while sitting on the couch he will immediately try to get to it. He is not allowed and he knows it. It's so funny, he will be dead-asleep and the second I leave the room he'll be up on the side table lapping up the drink.

I can't leave a bottle of Kahlua on the kitchen counter or he will sit and whine at it.

Talk about 'high value reward"! :wonky:
